Not as good as the original HON Nucleus. I bought this to replace my ~10-year-old HON Nucleus (the ilira-Stretch M4 Back version, also purchased on Amazon). Unfortunately, this new “task chair” version feels like a downgrade. Backrest is shorter and less flexible, around 22" tall instead of 24". Seat is about half an inch smaller in every direction. Cushioning & support feels similar, though. Armrest mounts are now all plastic, and they move freely side-to-side instead of locking with a button press. Seat controls have changed: you now have to turn a knob to adjust recline, and it doesn’t lean back as far. Lumbar support is meh, the old model was fine without it. That said, the hammock-style seat is still innovative, easily the best design I’ve found for long work sessions. I’ve worked from home for around 15 years, and while the seat eventually stretches and bottoms out, it lasts long enough to justify the cost. Overall, it’s disappointing. The build quality and comfort just don’t measure up to the original. It seems the original model has been discontinued, possibly replaced by the Flexion line. The chair is comfortable and the lumbar support is effective. Synchro tilt took some figuring out on both knob sides; when used properly, it's nice. A stiffer armrest and five-dimensional movement would be the only improvements. No matter how expensive or how cheap a chair is, the seat cushion wears out in about a year to a year and a half. My kitten had finally completed the destruction of my prior office chair, so I was in the market for a new one. I decided to try this one. The gray and turquoise color scheme matched perfectly in my cool toned office and I was curious to see if a more expensive chair by a highly recognized brand would actually be better for me. Spoiler alert - it's not. I liked my old chair perfectly fine and I think I spent maybe $179 on it. It was actual leather with a metal base, comfy seat and back with cushioned arms, and height adjustable. This one is plastic, mesh, and textured cloth and is actually less comfortable. The seat cushion feels very hard. I'm sure some people will call that supportive, but I like a little give to my chair. I don't think the mesh back is comfortable at all and while the lumbar support is adjustable, it can't really be removed. The back does have a tilt option, but not very far. The arm rests are height adjustable, but don't shift forward or back. This doesn't seem ideal as people have varying body shapes and types. I don't find the position of the armrest comfortable and wish I was able to move them forward. The directions provided with the chair are applicable to several different models and it took me a few moments to figure out which one I was dealing with so I could adjust the tilt. I honestly can't believe this is a $600 chair. Maybe for businesses that are willing to overspend on furniture for use in an actual commercial office cubicle, but this is not a chair I would recommend for a home office. It's very much a task chair and I prefer a cozy executive seat, especially for this amount of money. ... show more

I got this product to replace my ancient desk chair, and it has not disappointed! The mesh construction is surprisingly sturdy, and the ergonomic settings make for a very comfortable work session. That said, tweaking all those settings isn't completely intuitive, and I'm still not certain how to maximize everything this chair claims to offer. I also tend to fidget in my seat a lot (thanks ADHD), and this chair isn't necessarily the best for that. ... show more
