  • Well worth the extra cost. Very happy with the product. Great features.
Style: Pan + Lid Size: 12-inch
I brought a 10 inch fry pan direct from HexClad, I liked it so much I just brought a 12 inch pan on Amazon. I have had the 10 inch pan for about a week and I love it. I own a parrot and PTFE/PFOA, when overheated creates a deadly gas for birds so chemical free was a priority. I have a large gas grill with heavy iron grates so durability and even heating matters. Normally, I find celebrity endorsed products to be "gimmicky," but not here. The pans are very well made and even aesthetically pleasing. The black patterned surface with stainless trim looks good and hides staining. The pan is solid and moderately heavy and the handle is big making it good for large hands. It's ability to withstand 900 deg. (as advertised ) in an oven is a feat. With regard to its non-stick qualities, it is very good provided you follow the simple seasoning instructions and follow their heat recommendations. If you do, eggs, meats and sauces slip right off and you only need a soft sponge to clean the pan. The pan heats very quickly and evenly. HexClad claims that medium heat has the cooking effect as high heat which is true so you must be careful with you heat levels or you will burn the food. The pan finish feels diamond hard and slippery-smooth despite the embossed pattern. I used a steel fork to scramble eggs. There was not a mark or a scratch so their claim that you can use metal utensils is true (within reason). Still, I prefer hard, nylon utensils. There was alot of hype about this product and for once the hype is true. I cook alot and have invested in many high-end pans. HexClad is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I have not owned this product long enough to judge it's durability (which I suspect is good), I will edit this review in 6 months in that regard. ... show more

  • Worth it!
Style: Pan + Lid Size: 12-inch
My last set of 'high end' non stick cookware only lasted 3 years and I am done getting new pans so often. I have a stainless steel set that is 20+ years old and a cast iron skillet that is more than 50 years old, but my wife doesn't like using or cleaning them so we needed a new pan. I did research on the Hexclad and similar pans. I bought a competing set from Costco and ordered the Hexclad for a comparison - mainly to show the wife that the extra cost for Hexclad wasn't worth it. I took the Costco set back. The overall fit, finish, and construction was much better and the Hexclad was a bit heavier. This made for a far more even heat distribution across the pan, even on my crappy electric cooktop. I cooked burgers on both and then cleaned them with soap and water. Once cool I put both pans back on the stove, cranked the heat, and dropped a handful of shredded cheese on the pan. No additional fat or oil added. The cheese slid around on both easily. Next, I fried and egg. The cook on the egg on the Hexclad was more even while I had to fuss around more on the Henkels from Costco. Overall performance between both is almost identical, but the better heat distribution and the lifetime warranty on the Hexclad sealed the deal for me. No more getting new pans every couple of years! ... show more

  • Best pan I have ever purchased to date
Style: Pan Size: 12-inch
My daughter (who researches everything) asked for several of these pans for Christmas one year. She raved about them so much, I bought myself several pieces. Then I bought my son some and recently gifted my mom with her first piece of many to come. We all love this brand and style. From the handle to the ease of cleaning it is our favorite cookware. The nonstick design works wonderfully . It is pricy but a very well made product that holds up. I plan on purchasing many more pieces for myself and as gifts in the future. ... show more

  • I'm Impressed. I Don'ţ Get Impresseḍ Easily
Style: Pan + Lid Size: 12-inch
We started replacing ouṙ potṡ and pans recently, but researched carefully what'ṡ currently available. We usually have a mishmash oḟ brands that suited our needs, buţ most of them were lookinģ bad and had terrible hot spots. I boughţ one small skillet from A****n and one from Hexclad to compare, both hybrid type pans. Aṡ far as cooking went, both performeḍ well, buţ the non-stick "pattern" on the A****n pan is only on the flat cooking surface of the pan, whereas the Hexclad pan's hybrid pattern goes up the sides of the pan, ensuring that non-stick cooking will happen on the sides of the pan as well, and the pan just looks better. I useḍ a laser thermometeṙ to check for even heat distribution and both panṡ were about the same, but the Hexclaḍ pan retaineḍ heat better. The hybrid appearance is also on the bottom of the pan which makes it non-stick, where the other pan is polished stainless steel. I have a gas cooktop so don't know if either one would scratch the glass cooktops. Cleanup is a breeze, and let's face it, every pan will get cooked on grease spatters and Hexclad is no different. I always check for this when washing up, which normally takes no less than a couple of minutes, but when I do see the stains or cooked on grease, I attack them with Bar Keeper's Friend. I won't allow the gunk to build up. Add another couple of minutes for this application, and cleanup is still pretty quick. Hexclad has a lifetime warranty on these pans, and from what I've read, works pretty well. Since my first initial purchase, I've added the 10" fry pan, the 5.5l saute pan, a 1 qt, 2 qt and 3 qt saucepan, and an 8 qt pot, which we made pralines in it several days ago, and it performed most excellent. The cooked on, gummy residue of the candy was swept away easily with hot water, Dawn detergent and a nylon scrubby within minutes. Price? The things are in the upper stratosphere, but not like some of the stuff sold on Willaims-Sonoma. The A****n brand is slightly less expensive in comparison, and most likely fit the bill if one decided not to spend money on Hexclad. We are sold on the Hexclad pans and recommend them for anyone wanting to up their cooking game. ... show more
