This umbrella provides shade very well when I do projects in my backyard. The cloth blocks the strong UV. The spaces between the layers allow wind go through. The top part can be adjusted according to the direction of sun. It is not heavy so moving it is not a problem. I can set it up in different places easily based on the location of my project. I have not used it during rains. But I am pretty sure it will separate me and water and keep me dry during raining days. Umbrella is beautiful and great until it isn't. There are clips that hold tiers of the umbrella up. They are fragile and several were broken upon delivery. The company does respond to issues and sent replacements for me to screw on. Now, two months in, the pulls system is broken because the cord is broken. My last umbrella survived 3 years of the same use. 2 months is unacceptable. Edited: while I am still disappointed that my umbrella broke so quickly, I do have to say their customer service is very responsive. The company contacted me to make it right. ... show more

Update: The company has replace the broken umbrella with a new one and the process went smoothly. Original review below: It gets quite windy where we live, so I really like the design that allows the wind to flow through the umbrella when opened. However, the pin which holds the pole in a straight upright position fell out and now the umbrella is always in the tilt position :( Because of this, the umbrella will also not close completely. I've purchased a metal pin/dowel to fix the issue, but it has been unsuccessful. I hope the Seller of this umbrella reads my review and reaches out with a solution, as it is just 2 weeks past the return window. ... show more

Bottom tier of fabric is held in place with a flimsy plastic clip. First unit arrived with two broken clips. Contact Amazon for return (which happened very quickly). Secon unit arrived with another broken clip. No problem - I can pirate a clip off the first unit before I send it back. Nope. Riveted in place. So what do we do? Drill out some rivets? Roll the dice and hope the third one is the charm? MacGyver my own solution with some chewing gum and fishing line? Just give up on this model and ask for the refund? ... show more

We had ordered the Navy blue umbrella and got a red one instead. The price for the red one was slightly cheaper as well. We were charged price for the navy one. I contacted the seller, who replied the umbrella was shipped by Amazon. I have tried to call Amazon but can't get a real person to discuss this with. So frustrated about that. We decided to just keep the umbrella and not go through the hassle of returning. The umbrella is very nice and I am sure we will enjoy using it. If it wasn't for the frustration in trying to contact a real person at Amazon, I would have given it 5 stars. ... show more
