This works great. The heat goes up the back of the neck and reaches just above the back of my skull. The controls are excellent and attached to the right side of the shoulder pad in the back. There is nothing to connect for the power cord and the controls they are all a permanent connection to the pad. The heat range goes from 1 - 6, I usually have mine at 3 or 4 and it is just enough to loosen up my tight neck muscles and provde relief. The timer is for 30 60 90 120 minutes and I love the flexibility. Well designed.

I bought this to relax tight neck and shoulder muscles when I sleep on my shoulders or neck wrong. It has multiple heat levels and is made well of a soft quilted Valure material. This isn't a USB rechargeable heating pad. It is an electric pad that comes with an ample 7-foot cord you plug into an outlet. I love that it's washable even though I haven't tried washing it yet. The shoulder area and neck opening is big enough to accommodate my neck and shoulders and my husband's 17-inch neck and broad shoulders. I set it on 4 out of 6 heat settings and set the auto shutoff for 30 minutes. The 4-level auto shutoff feature is a must since I almost fell asleep. It definitely helped loosen my neck and shoulders and relieved my headache. The one thing that would have made this a 5-star product is if it came with a storage bag or box.

I’ve lived with heating pads for years for various issues, literally can’t live without them. It’s very hard to keep one on my neck, shoulders or upper back, which I have regularly needed it for. Received this as a Xmas gift and now that I’m using it for shoulder pains, mainly knots, I don’t know how I lived without it. I actually never knew these existed, so I’m very grateful that my daughter picked it out for me. It covers the majority of my upper back, both shoulders and up my neck to the base of my hairline. It has multiple levels of heat, upon turning it on, starts at 3x, great heat, but you can turn it all the way up to 6! Has a timer in 30 minute intervals up to 120 minutes. Also has a snap fastener to keep it in place My ONLY tiny complaint is that , I’m a tiny person in general so the snap is real close to the closure and I wish they had 2-3 more that went up further, because I have to pull it and basically wrap it right in order for me to feel the warmth without applying pressure. I don’t fault that since it would probably fit the average person. Just my opinion, it would better serve a variety of sizes. Nonetheless, I am super happy with it and highly recommend it to anyone that needs it for those areas.

The heating pad is effective for the neck, but the heating coils are literally only on the back of the neck. Nothing for the shoulders or back, as implied by the title and description. Returning this and buying one with heat for the shoulders too.
