Ramping up the volume is complex. I don't know why it kept whistling for me initially. But I may have had the settings to high. I had to stop using this for awhile because it made me feel ...nautious. It was kinda annoying to use these and immediately felt I'll. I really had to get use to the echoing effect that is poured directly into your ear canal. Best way I can explain it is its like putting your hands wrapped around your ears and then pumping in loud noise from around your environment. It was easier to get started with inside the house. But multiple times I had to remove these while being outside. There just was no way to control the volume of the echo (is the best way I can explain it). Just simply turning the volume down did not help much for my mental health. I do find the design simpler than the around the ear style. These are mimicking the look of a modern earbud by a big fruit company. They were tiring to wear on the ear for me, even though they were light in weight. I think ultimately they might not be my best choice but it seems like they do work as expected forOTC hearing aids. Just remember, you should consult with a doctor like I did. They will help you get the best treatment for your condition. As they pointed out, not everyone fits in the same pair of pants. Lol

I got these for my wife who said I like the look of these hearing aids as I'm not elderly and work around college students and for all they know I'm listening to music instead of aiding my hearing of their conversation with me. These are comfortable and as a good variety of settings. I do get some whistling noises which can be irritating but I get that from most hearing aids I've tested. Battery life is really good. They are worth the money if you have a hard time hearing conversations.

This is my father’s fourth attempt at using hearing assist devices, and the Funnywhale Beyond is definitely performing better than the previous ones, including units that cost $1100 a pair. They were ready to use straight out of the box, with ear cups that fit my father’s ears perfectly. The sound quality for things like voices is good, and adjusting the volume and tone is easy. For his level of hearing loss, these provide an extra level of amplification while still letting natural ambient sounds come through. They’re not ideal for streaming music, but that’s not really their intended purpose. He’s only had them for a few days, so we’ll see how they hold up over time, but so far, these are definitely a great value.

These are attractive looking hearing aids. I like that they look like regular ear buds. It's much more discreet than some other hearing aids. The sound amplifies fairly well and gets loud enough. The sound quality is reduced a bit, but the amplified sound outweighs the sound quality issues. It comes in a nice charging case. The batteries last a long time.
