Hayward SP0714T VariFlo Top-Mount Multiport Valve, Black From the Manufacturer Hayward SP0714T Pro-Series Control Valve Vari-Flo 1-1/2-Inch (FIP) 7-Positions Top Mount Clamp, Black. Hayward's Vari-Flo XL multiport control valve, is engineered for maximum flow at lower pressure drops is the choice in multiport valves. All Vari-Flo control valves feature an easy-to-use lever action handle that lets you "dial" up to seven valve/filter functions: filter, backwash, waste, rinse, closed, winter or recirculate. Complete with an integral sight glass that lets you see when the backwashing cycle is completed, our wide selection of valve configurations allows you to match the right Vari-Flo valve to the proper application; residential, commercial, top-mount or side mount. Vari-Flo Control Valve Functions FILTER - For normal filtering and regular vacuuming. BACKWASH - For cleaning filter sand bed of accumulated debris. RINSE - Use after completing backwash cycle to ensure all dirty water is rinsed out of the filter to waste. WASTE - By-passes the filter for draining or lowering pool water level and for vacuuming heavy debris directly to waste line. RECIRCULATE - Water is recirculated through the valve, by-passing the filter. CLOSED - Shuts off the flow from the pump to the filter. Winter - For winterizing (SP0714T only).

Price was ok however there was a big price jump the past few months but what hasn’t gone up lately! The product it’s self was pretty easy to install and seems to be working as it supposed to. Mine did come with the valve, a new oring,pressure gauge and glass sight for backwashing and a plug I assume for when u close it for the pressure gauge. My only problem was with the shipping from IN THE SWIM!!! The shipping speed was awesome. HOWEVER the Way it was packaged and shipped was horrible it looked like it was tossed around and kicked like a beanbag there was no care or attention that went into packing this for shipping!! They shipped it in the original packaging from Hayward with no packing material inside to prevent it from being damaged!! It should’ve been shipped in at least another box with some kind of packing material to help prevent damage to this delicate peice from being damaged thank goodness there was a small neck on it but it didn’t prevent it from functioning correct. ... show more

started leaking as soon as installed (2 hour job) ended up having to replace the seal assembly, that was cheaper than removing and returning the unit for one that wasn't used or where someone took the new seal and replaced it with a used one. so I'm out an additional $43.40 for a replacement seal. not a happy customer. ... show more

Multi port filter fitt fine. Install went smooth, changed sand at same time. PSI Gauge mount hole still prone to leak , strip, or crack housing. Needs metal inset and 90° elbow. Would recommend.

I needed to replace my aging SP0711. The offset ports on this SP714T model made me hesitate purchasing this model for a while. They were not the same as the old SP0711 model which had ports one right over the other. I didn't want to have to make new pvc pipes to custom fit. But after I made exhaustive research on Haywards web site I determined this is the right model for the job. It's amazing how important, detailed information is next to impossible to find on various store websites and even the manufactures site. Even the manual will leave out simple but important info. It turns out that the "RETURN" port is in the same place as the older SP0711/12 model but it's the "PUMP" port that they offset. That's good and not a problem because most people use a flex pipe from the pump so it allows some leeway. It installed fine on my Hayward S210T sand tank. The SP0714T has three, 1 ½ inch, threaded ports (Return, Pump, and Backwash/Waste) and installs on a sand tank using bolt-on brackets. It is supposed to come with a pressure gauge, a sight glass and gasket, and o-ring for the bottom of the multi-valve where it installs to the sand tank. It does not come with the bolt-on brackets they must be purchased separately. My package did NOT include the sight glass. I didn't use the new pressure gauge because it was cross treading when I tried to screw it in, I don't know why. I used my old one and so far it's not leaking and working I hope. When installing this valve to the tank I use a rubber mallet intermittently as I tighten the brackets. For the first time in a long time I have no leaks coming from the brackets area. We all know water finds a way to leak so I will update this review later if it's a fault of the valve. Right now I'm finding this a good value buy and I'm happy with it. Like I said I've only just installed it and have used it only to filter, not to backwash, rinse, et cetera. Tomorrow may be a different story and I'll update if need be. If this item came with all the parts I'd have gone maybe 5 stars because it's truly much cheaper here than any local source and it is working just fine. *Okay, now the update as of 5/27/2013. It is working fine and has no leaks at all! I have had the pool open for 2 weeks now and all is well with this valve. Like I said above, tighten the clamps then lightly pound around the clamp with the rubber mallet to "convince" it to get more snug, and tighten as needed more, pound, tighten. I was unsure if this replacement would work because it is not the same as my old one which Hayward probably no longer makes since I couldn’t find one anywhere. I took a chance & figured if it didn’t work I could always return it. It was a fantastic fit and while it is only day one it seems to work better than my old one that cracked.
