  • Wire Lead was Clipped; a Good, Basic Exercise Bike Otherwise. But HAPBEAR Provided Excellent Service
Color: Black
Let's face it: If you're serious about exercise with machines, the gym is the best place to do it. For the money, you get access to the better equipment, and more importantly, you don't have to maintain it. That last part is particularly beneficial. I've had a variety of home exercise equipment over the years, some expensive, some not, to supplement going to the gym. The problem is, no matter how expensive or well made, equipment breaks down. And that doesn't count any maintenance along the way. The more expensive the machine, the more complicated it usually is, which means there are more things to break down, too. With the pandemic in particular, I've leaned on home equipment to get some kind of workout. When the other exercise bike acted up, I decided on a cheaper replacement. This bike caught my eye because it folded up and was reasonably priced. I wasn't expecting anything remarkable. Just a stop gap. The good: 1) It's well made overall. The simple metal frame is as sturdy as anything in the low to medium price range. Some parts are cheaper than my older bike's -- I think that's just the case in general, even with more expensive machines. The center of gravity might be a little high for bigger people, making it tipsy, but for my narrow behind, it sits fine. 2) It's compact. This is perfect for an apartment or a small room. 3) You get a workout. The mechanism feels different than the magnetic resistance bikes I've had (and quite different than the air resistance bikes and spinners, too). It doesn't even feel like the old stationary bikes that were literally bikes (if you're old enough to know what I'm talking about). I don't know how much the resistance works the muscles -- it just seems "lighter" in this regard -- but I definitely got the heart rate up and worked up a sweat. The bad: 1) The machine comes with three leads to connect to the simple electronic monitor. On mine, one of the leads was cut. Just sliced in half. It looks like it happened in packing, but perhaps shipping, as the box was pretty beat up. Needless to say, with that third lead useless, I can't take advantage of all the machine's capability. I've already put the machine together, so taking it apart to send back is just a real hassle. At the same time, I can only use the machine for half of what I paid for. I may be able to strip the insulation and splice the wires, but there's very little to work with. I have to take off at least one more star for that. 2) The seating is quite basic -- even more so than on actual bikes I've owned. I don't know how long it will last, but given it feels stiff and cheaply padded, I can only assume it will wear out more quickly. 3) There were several "Prop 65" warnings that came with the bike. That's the idiotic California law that requires sellers and manufacturers to label things if there might be something shown in the laboratory to cause cancer or birth/reproductive defects, or so I'm told. The problem is these vague warnings never specify what they're referring to. Is it the copper wiring? Lead in the paint? Something in the oil used to lubricate the workings? Your guess is as good as mine. And it's never clear what studies this is based on, either. So, I blame both the idiotic California law that requires a warning with any useful specificity and the manufacturer who ain't talking either. EDIT: I'm increasing the stars on this review from 2 to 5 because HAPBEAR did such a tremendous job reaching out to me to rectify the situation with the damaged lead. Their response was immediate and caring, and I've rarely had customer service so polite and effective. I'll keep an eye to updating this review in a few months after I've used the machine enough to discuss how well it works over time. But in terms of customer service, I'm nothing but impressed! ... show more

  • Good bike
Color: Red
The bike itself works great, good resistance levels. The only issue I kind of had was the instructions were not as clear to me. I mean you can figure it out but it was just not as clear and cut as other pieces of equipment that needs to be assembled. It's pretty good

  • Hapbear Bike
Color: Black
Easy to put together, I am 67 yrs old and it took me about an hour. I do find the seat rather uncomfortable, have to find a pillow that will make it feel better for longer periods. Also, I do wish the back rest was adjustable. It would feel better an inch or two higher. But overall, it's a good size and didn't cost a lot. ... show more

  • Amazing!!
Color: Black
I loved it! I really did my research before buying one of these. I was not disappointed! Shipping was fast, and all parts were complete and it was easy to assemble. I’ve had it for 2 months now and so far it has been great. I love the wide seat and back rest! The price was not bad either.

  • Very well engineered
Color: Black
Wow...this is an impressive piece of equipment for a very reasonable price. It will require a couple of hours and some space for assembly But even the assembly process is well planned and very intuitive. The equipment is well engineered and very sturdy. It is heavier than I anticipated, but it can be adjusted for storage. It has wheels in the front which can be used for moving it around, but do not jeopardize operation. I wish that the seat and frame adjustment knobs were spring-loaded for quicker manipulation, though the fully threaded pins are probably safer. All in all, this is great! ... show more

  • A good value for the money spent, but the bike could be better.
Color: Black
I have had the bike for over a month. I weight about 230 lb. and looking to lose more weight. I purchased the bike with the idea of adding Cardio to my new workout routine. It has essentially served that purpose well. It was a low-cost solution with the ability to fold and put the bike away, when I am not using it. Again, it folds up well enough and take a small footprint when folded up. The assemble was relatively straightforward but was more difficult than I expected it to be. It took me an hour to assemble the bike from its packing, and it was a workout in and of itself to assemble it. If I had the money and space I would probably opt for a better bike, but given my currently living situation, this bike serve its purpose. Overall, I think it is very much okay and it is a great value. Yet, the bike leaves much to be desired. Like the display mount does not support Electonic devices bigger than iphone and even my iPhone isn't well secure. I bump the bike once and the Iphone fell right off. It was okay during normal use. I am 5'11 and the bike does NOT support me riding the bike from a standing position, my knees hit the handles. The other thing, is I would like the seat to go higher, but I have already maxed it out. I can still use the bike, but I would use a few more inches up with the seat. The resistances maxed out at 8 and I have done about 5 45-minutes exercises and resistance 8 does not feel that hard anymore. Perhaps, I am getting significantly fitter, but my easy mode is 3, my medium mode is 6, and 8 is only slightly harder than 6. I am just not getting the same level of burn as when I started. I expect these numbers to rise, but soon there will no hard mode for me. I feel annoy with the process of folding up the bike. There is knob, I need to unscrew to unfold the bike, then I need to screw the knob back in to lock the bike in place. Then repeat the process to put the bike away. It is just very clunky. Overall, the bike meets my needs and met my expectation for the most part. It is a low-cost solution that works as a exercise bike and support my workout schedule. I am happy to continue to the bike as one of my cardo solutions. Of course, if my space and money situation improve, I would definitely opt for a better bike at a higher price, but this works well enough. ... show more
