The directions are small, hard to see and figure out what parts are being used, and don't give any tips (it's only pictures). Once I started assembling this basketball hoop, I discovered that I couldn't even do step one. The screw would only screw in a tiny bit and then stop. My husband couldn't get it either, so with the help of a power drill, we finally got it in. Then I realized the holes in the first pole need to be turned a certain way in order to do step two, so I had to undo step one to align the holes better. All in all, I did finally get it all assembled. It's not very sturdy as the poles are pretty thin and it's just hand tightened knob screws holding all the vertical poles in place (with the exception of the one on the very bottom), so I'm finding it needs to be tightened/checked regularly. One of the plastic clips that hold the net on has already broken after my kids have played with it for just a few hours. This is a pretty small basketball hoop. I was surprised when the box showed up. The backboard is about 16" x 12 1/2". The basketballs air up fine with the included hand pump. The nozzle for the pump is in the pump handle (clever!). At first, I thought it was missing. This basketball hoops is cheap (in quality) but it's was also cheap in price ($35). So, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a cheaper option for a smaller basketball hoop for a younger kid (maybe 7 years or younger), this could work, but I'm not expecting it to last a long time. My kids have enjoyed playing with it for now though.

Now that the unit is assembled and the base has been filled with water (sand would work too) this basketball hoop should entertain our grandson when he visits. There were no instructions, just a very small diagram of what to do. It was so hard to see exactly which screw or part to use. Assembly took much longer than anticipated due to this. It definitely isn’t as sturdy as we had hoped, but it should hold up fine indoors. Another option with this is to not use the base and pole at all, but rather to just secure the backboard and hoop to the wall. Mounting brackets are included for that purpose.

This Basketball hoop is a fun addition to our play room. It was smaller then I was expecting or I would say skinnier. It is pretty sturdy once you get everything setup. Overall pretty well made and would recommend for kids under 8

This was easy to put together, no extra tools were needed. The issues I had were with the instructions, that were printed really small, and hard for my old eyes to see. The size also obscured some of the details. The pole is not robust and wobbles a good bit. You will need to put something in the base to keep it from tipping, as it seems to be barely balanced when empty. The hole to put that something in is about the size of a quarter, which makes it difficult to get any sand in it. Water would be easier, but I don't trust it to not eventually leak. The include pump felt really cheap (and included a plastic needle(!)), but surprisingly got the job done. The balls are really bouncy when inflated and don't always bounce true. Even though this is taller than the previous goal we had, the backboard is smaller.
