I bought this vacuum for my elderly mother with dementia because of Its simplicity. It works great for her small apartment. The only two issues I have with this vacuum are: 1. The vacuum has a little resistance when pulling backwards because of its suction (I'm thinking a self-propel would help but would probably increase the weight). For an elderly customer, this may tire him/her out easily when vacuuming carpet; and 2. The vacuum does not appear to be completely sealed. I can smell the dust when I vacuum....not like the Shark's complete seal that I'm accustomed to. All in all it's a good vacuum--easy to operate and no worries about tripping over a cord. The vacuum came with an adapter to use with U.S. electrical outlets. I did not have to specify this when ordering. ... show more

This is my second GTech vacuum. My first GTech would have lasted much longer had a grandchild not borrowed it. These vacuums are well made, have a powerful pickup and are lightweight so doesn't hurt my back to use them. It cleans under my beds easily and whoops up dust in the corners. This is the best vacuum cleaner I've ever had! When I was visiting my sister in England she had one and loved it. As soon as I got back to California I ordered one. It came within a week from the UK. There is a conversion plug as it's got a UK plug on it but it charges and works great. Very lightweight, works on hardwood, tile and carpet without changing any settings.
