I have a ford lighting and charge using the ford mobile charger. I bought this one due to a rebate offer my town provided. I received this charger and wow. It charges at 41amps at peak, compare to around 26amps on the ford charger. It just works and it works well. The handle and enclosure is heavy duty. I did need to removed the cover so that the WiFi can connect but no problem after that. The app is great too. They should have made it with an external WiFi antenna for better range but other than that no issues and it doesn’t drop connection. The price is great and I like the basic industrial look with the minimal graphic. Update: I bought a cheap WiFi range extender and it fixed the connectivity issue I was having. The problem is the WiFi module encased in the enclosure. It has poor range. Still very happy with the purchase!

A sturdy, reliable, no-plastic housing, made-in canada product. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but those functions come with vehicle anyways, so this simple charger works just fine. It however doesn't support 5G Wi-Fi, but once again, I can use the vehicle's app to manage the charging, it doesn't bother me.

Solidly built, and a thoughtful design for mounting. The charger component is solid and reliable, and it "feels" good--like it was built with high-quality components and cabling. The only complaint I have is that it's hard to get connected to wifi, and once connected, it tends to fall off and doesn't reconnect itself. I routinely go to look at our charging history in the (very nice) app, and find it has been offline for a week or more... so I reconnect it, and it works fine for a couple weeks, then falls off again.

To use the scheduling feature, you need active Wi-Fi connection - not just when you setup/program but all the time or the charger could start charging at your most expensive electric rate. And Wi-Fi drops out frequently - so no this is a very real problem. Why does this charger stop following the configured schedule and just charge all the time because it does not have an active Wi-Fi connection??? Electronics from the 1980s were able to (a) keep time and (b) follow a programmed schedule without needing constant external communications. Why is this charger different? This is massive level stupid - like the head of product/engineering should get fired stupid. We are close to have artificial general intelligence and Grizzl-E cannot even design a product with the resiliency of a 1987 VCR??? We are in Southern California Edison territory with time of use electric billing, so the cost for peak electricity vs. non-peak can be 2-3x more expensive. If I have charger plugged in to car and WiFi drops out, I could easily spend extra $5-10 on electricity each time that happens. The Wi-Fi connection is unreliable at best. The garage door opener and washer/dryer are also in garage and do not seem to have the same issue with losing connection. I tried adding guest network just for charger that was only 2.4Ghz per instructions but that did not work any better (actually worse). The base charging functionality seems fine, but it not very useful if I have to remember to only plug charger into car after 9pm.

Outstanding EV charger. Built like a battleship - something you just don't see a lot anymore. Works flawlessly and reliably. App is simple but has the functionality you need. Most importantly, I bought the NEMA 14-50 plug version and it has never - not once - tripped our dedicated breaker for the EV charger. Because of the newer electrical code requirements to put EV chargers on a GFCI breaker, a lot of these plug-in chargers will trip the breaker from time to time. Not this one. And the price - very, very reasonable.

UPDATED 05/31/24: At the request of Grizzl-e tech (at least 1 call & multiple emails daily from tech support for the past week or so) I am updating my review. The Grizzl-e Smart charger installed relatively easily with a decent electrical background. I installed a NEMA 14-50 outlet with a 40 amp breaker. The charging unit plugs directing into this outlet and the KIA Sportage Hybrid gets a full charge in just under 3 hours. I initially ran into connectivity issues with the wifi, but installed a wifi extender in the garage to provide a stonger signal. Getting the Smart Charger to connect took a little work, but I was eventually able to get it connected & now receive daily reports when the EV charging is complete. I also found that the Grizzl-E Connect app had a conflict with the EV app. When both apps were scheduled at the same time, the charging would shut off causing a flashing green/yellow error. It took a bit of searching online to find what the light meant. I also contacted Grizzl-e tech support for assistance. After unplugging the charger for 24 hours, clearing the scheduling module on Grizzl-e Connect, and giving the EV app priority, I was finally able to get a complete charge. All has been good now for the past 3-4 weeks since. Tech support was helpful once I spoke with them about the problem. They verified my theory about app conflicts as I had figured out the issue by the time they reached me. I feel that the installation & user manual could be more detailed with additional information about the LED lamp signals. As I mentioned, tech support was helpful but a bit overbearing with follow up calls & email requests to edit my original review. I would recommend the charger again, but feel the Smart version is not essential as your EV will probably be setup with an app of its own. This appears to be a well designed product & it installed relatively easily. I did have some issues getting the wifi to connect in the garage due to the lack of good internet signal. The charger worked well for a couple weeks, then last week stopped charging and the indicator lights flashed green & yellow. I haven't had time to look into the issue yet, but am hoping that it just needs a reset.
