I have a ford lighting and charge using the ford mobile charger. I bought this one due to a rebate offer my town provided. I received this charger and wow. It charges at 41amps at peak, compare to around 26amps on the ford charger. It just works and it works well. The handle and enclosure is heavy duty. I did need to removed the cover so that the WiFi can connect but no problem after that. The app is great too. They should have made it with an external WiFi antenna for better range but other than that no issues and it doesn’t drop connection. The price is great and I like the basic industrial look with the minimal graphic. Update: I bought a cheap WiFi range extender and it fixed the connectivity issue I was having. The problem is the WiFi module encased in the enclosure. It has poor range. Still very happy with the purchase!

I am giving this charger a 5 star as it's a great charger. But my advice is, do not get the Smart version as you're wasting your money on a feature that just does not work. I tried for hours to connect the charger to the wifi and it was impossible. Followed all the instructions included with the charger, the instructions in the on-line manual, the instructions in the video but it just does not connect. So I went online and read about this issue and it seems everyone is having problems connecting the charger to the wifi. And if you do end up connecting the charger to the wifi, it will always have problems and will actually be a headache to maintain that wifi connection. So go with the regular charger and don't waste your money on a software and an app that just does not work.

Solidly built, and a thoughtful design for mounting. The charger component is solid and reliable, and it "feels" good--like it was built with high-quality components and cabling. The only complaint I have is that it's hard to get connected to wifi, and once connected, it tends to fall off and doesn't reconnect itself. I routinely go to look at our charging history in the (very nice) app, and find it has been offline for a week or more... so I reconnect it, and it works fine for a couple weeks, then falls off again.

Top quality EV home charger. Dedicated 240 volt 50 amp NEMA 14-50 outlet required for 40 amp charging; be sure you get the outlet version engineered for continuous use - it’ll be expensive, but the cheap ones cannot handle a steady 40 amp draw for hours and can burn down our house when they fail. Yes, I could just use the cable that came with the car but to me it’s worth having this. Via the free Grizzl-E app I can come home, plug in the car and the Grizzl-E waits for the evening when the electric rates drop to begin charging and the car is ready to go when I wake up. 24 foot cable is plenty long enough for my use. The app also accumulates how much I’m spending on recharging - otherwise impossible for me to learn that - so I can track total cost of EV ownership. I’m using this inside my garage, but I appreciate that I could mount it outdoors as it’s built for that. Perfect for my needs, good quality and value for the money, UL certified. I’ve very happy with my Grizzl-E.

Great so far! The hardware installation was straightforward. I got it on the home Wi-Fi in a few minutes. The Grizzl-E Connect app asked to update the firmware, no problems. I confirmed it'll charge in dumb mode with no internet. (Killed my Wi-Fi for an hour and plugged in my car. I let it charge and plugged the Wi-Fi back in. After the unit came online in the app I got stats like, charging is complete and how how much energy was used.) I've only had it 24 hours but it checks all my key requirements. I wanted the Smart model because I have to pay someone else for my power and I need a fair and accurate way to track my usage. I like that it'll operate w/ out internet too. Later I'll finish bolting it to the wall now that it's demonstrated its usefulness. I don't expect to have any problems. It's probably a better value than my previous ChargePoint EVSE unit. The logic board on the ChargePoint failed after 5 years. ChargePoint was not helpful. They don't offer out of warranty repairs or tech details for repair services. With the Extended Warranty this Grizzl-E is far more affordable. We'll see how it fares the next five years.

I am writing this review because the process is a struggle. I have been able to charge the car one time. Since this charge, the charger will not charge. I can not find any online support and I am only able to email for technical support. I have been back and forth with the emails and have taken every step they have suggested and yet I have not yet had success. To give a quick recap it states "failure to charge" and then " suspended by EV". I have tried to unplug it from the wall as well as resetting the breaker. Neither of these solutions although suggested through email as a solution nothing has worked. I will update as progress is made. Update: I decided to return the item through amazon. The company decided to slow roll the return by having me return the produced to them and only upon receiving it a new one would be returned to me. Not knowing how long this process would take I decided to return through Amazon and will find a charger that better fits my needs.

Outstanding EV charger. Built like a battleship - something you just don't see a lot anymore. Works flawlessly and reliably. App is simple but has the functionality you need. Most importantly, I bought the NEMA 14-50 plug version and it has never - not once - tripped our dedicated breaker for the EV charger. Because of the newer electrical code requirements to put EV chargers on a GFCI breaker, a lot of these plug-in chargers will trip the breaker from time to time. Not this one. And the price - very, very reasonable.
