Clean design without useless styling. The installation is straightforward with no mysterious settings. Run the appropriate breaker, wire and conduit and you are done. The flexible 24 foot cord reached everywhere in our driveway. The charger has been used about 25 times with the 40 amp setting. The app works fine, but not really necessary. The cars software managed the process flawlessly.

Other than some wifi hiccups during setup, this charger has been great. Love the solid metal design. Since the hiccups at the beginning I've had no problem with wifi, the app, or charging. Rvrn tho I hardwired it, I still also purchased a lock as it is installed outside.

Wanted to love this charger, but could look part its flaws. please note mine was defective and melted a 50 amp breaker and a 60 amp breaker. the good- the case is heavy duty and should take even the most sever weather. the cable was flexible and the connector solidly built. it was clean looking and the software was simple to use. the bad- mine was defective (see above). the hardwire connections- at this point i cannot recommend this charged purely based on how they tell you to wire it and the connections to the box. as this is a 40-amp charger it should be wired with 6awg wire, but a 6 awg terminal lug does not fit in the connection spot. they need to update the connector to a screw terminal with for the appropriately sized wire.

Replaced a Juicebox that had been struggling to charge our Pacifica and ultimately failed. (This was our third juicebox unit, and was no longer in warranty). That brought me to the Grizzl-E product, which has a similar plug and is significantly less expensive. I debated between the wifi and dumb version and opted to spend the extra $50 for the wifi version just to allow for any timed charging features. The charger works well - box is lower profile than the juicebox. Construction is less heavy duty, notably the charger cord is smaller wire and the charger handpiece cradle is more flimsy. But, it charges like a champ and we've been using it for a couple of months now. If I did it over, I'd buy the one without wifi. This doesn't work well. It has to have a dedicated 2.4 GHz network so our mesh EERO didn't work. I purchased an extender for our Modem to give it it's own network and it is online maybe 20% of the time. The app is not very well designed or mature. Overall the wifi feels like they slapped it on a otherwise well made discount product but didn't put much effort into it, which suckers people to pay a premium. Overall, very happy with the function of the actual device though. Especially after all the problems we had had with Juicebox.

This charger is extremely well made. It's all metal and had a thick cord that looks like it will last. Only downside of the metal construction is that wifi reception is weak and it needs to be located near a wifi node or extender. Otherwise I think this is the best bang for your buck. UPDATED 05/31/24: At the request of Grizzl-e tech (at least 1 call & multiple emails daily from tech support for the past week or so) I am updating my review. The Grizzl-e Smart charger installed relatively easily with a decent electrical background. I installed a NEMA 14-50 outlet with a 40 amp breaker. The charging unit plugs directing into this outlet and the KIA Sportage Hybrid gets a full charge in just under 3 hours. I initially ran into connectivity issues with the wifi, but installed a wifi extender in the garage to provide a stonger signal. Getting the Smart Charger to connect took a little work, but I was eventually able to get it connected & now receive daily reports when the EV charging is complete. I also found that the Grizzl-E Connect app had a conflict with the EV app. When both apps were scheduled at the same time, the charging would shut off causing a flashing green/yellow error. It took a bit of searching online to find what the light meant. I also contacted Grizzl-e tech support for assistance. After unplugging the charger for 24 hours, clearing the scheduling module on Grizzl-e Connect, and giving the EV app priority, I was finally able to get a complete charge. All has been good now for the past 3-4 weeks since. Tech support was helpful once I spoke with them about the problem. They verified my theory about app conflicts as I had figured out the issue by the time they reached me. I feel that the installation & user manual could be more detailed with additional information about the LED lamp signals. As I mentioned, tech support was helpful but a bit overbearing with follow up calls & email requests to edit my original review. I would recommend the charger again, but feel the Smart version is not essential as your EV will probably be setup with an app of its own. This appears to be a well designed product & it installed relatively easily. I did have some issues getting the wifi to connect in the garage due to the lack of good internet signal. The charger worked well for a couple weeks, then last week stopped charging and the indicator lights flashed green & yellow. I haven't had time to look into the issue yet, but am hoping that it just needs a reset.

It was easy install but not as easy to get set up the WiFi. I followed the instructions but could not attach to the WiFi. 3 calls to their help team and was told for 3 days someone would call me back with the solution. 3rd day I called the help line once again and was told to open the box move a switch reboot set it back to the original position. Reboot and it connected perfectly. Have no idea how they could expect you to set up the unit yourself. 3 minutes to properly set it up. Now I love the charger.
