Great charger. It is literally a box with an LED and a heavy wire with the plug on the end. It does come with a cable rack that has a plug holder in the middle. I mounted this unit in the garage and I hang the cable on the rack and just let the plug hang down. The plug mount is nice but it does cause the cable to stick out a bit, and I don’t have the room for it to be sticking out and me walking into it. The wiring is straight forward. There is no common wire with this unit - 2 load connects and a ground connect. I used a 60 amp breaker and 60 amp wire and used the white as the ground (colored the ends green with a marker for future reference ). Connecting the unit to WiFi is ok, not easy, but ok. I added a mesh system to the house and the WiFi changed, that was a bit more challenging to reset the WiFi on the charger (turn breaker off, flip dip switches, turn power back on, blah blah blah), but after reading and re-reading the instructions and Googling it a few times I finally got it reconnected. The WiFi is only needed if you want the app data on the charging. Honestly I never use the app. I get home plug the car in and unplug in the morning. It comes with a chart that explains the colors of the LED on the charger, so that is hanging next to the charger, not that I have needed it, but it may come in handy one day. Happy Charging Enjoy

works great just as advertised. The app gives enough data to be useful but isn't required for operation. I could see where wiring might be of concern for some, it's a matter of having a circuit avaible that will handle it, we had an exisiting 60amp ciruit that is no longer used for welder that this took the place of. Our PHEV won't accept the max charing so we turned it down to 16 amps output via the dip-switches. It's a fantastic addition over the 120v charger we were using previously. It now charges in a matter of a few hours rather than over night. We only bought this rather than a small 20-30 amp charger due to being mfg'd in North America and having growth capacity if we bought a dedicated EV. Currently own a '25 Kia Sorento PHEV hybrid and yes it's overkill but will grow going forward, isn't overly complicated, overly connected, etc. Would have rather bought a USA made unit but from months of efforts and comparison this was the only unit that checked the boxes and was about $300 cheaper than it's nearest competitor that was built in North or Central America. Thank you Canada for producing a reasonably simple charger that doesn't collect a rediculous amount of data, require an app to connect/charge at a reasonable price.

This charger is excellent; the heat shrink covers are a bit tight but do work very well. Setting up the app is a bit of a challenge as you must use a 2.4ghz network, sign in with that name and that password but certainly worked, just not as user friendly as I would have liked. This charger is built like a tank; the cable holder is excellent as well.

Received it recently, and so far so good! Ran into an issue right after install, where the unit was flashing red light and beeping 3 times; a quick call to their support took care of it in less than 5 minutes -- just had to unplug and re-plug some connectors that came loose during transit.

Overall product seemed rugged and durable. Easy enough to change the amp setting to 40 amps and make it a dumb charger. It does seem like a charger that will hold up, hopefully to the elements as it’s outside on a coastal island. Installation wasn’t the easiest. As I couldn’t use a 1” conduit connector into the box they wouldn't fit. I tried both the rigid conduit and flexible conduit connectors I had. So I ended up spending half the day running around to stores trying to get a connector that worked. I didn’t look at the wiring schematics before hand but had 6-3 when really all I needed was 6-2 from the disconnect. I didn’t like the idea of securing the charger to the wall with a cotter pin and bolt. For the price of the item I would have thought it would have come with something more secure or a larger bolt hole so maybe I could use a 4 inch long, 5/8 inch diameter trailer hitch lock. Regardless I bought a lockable pin that worked. We will see how it holds up, all things considered I think it was a good buy.

We wanted a charger that could put up with our notoriously wet, cold, and blustery weather conditions; give us security to lock down the unit when we weren't using it; and set it to run only during our utility's off-peak hours. Our electrician recommended Grizzl-E for our climate. When I saw the State of Charge review where a Grizzl-E charger was sprayed with a water hose, dropped in a bucket of water, and still worked flawlessly, I figured we were choosing the right brand. While some have criticized the app for being too basic, it allows us to turn the unit on and off or to set it to a timer with a simple press of a button. It also allows us to see what each charging session has cost us and to assign the charge to a specific user. It also shows basic information regarding amperage, voltage, kilowatt hours, and length of session. The charger is rated at 48 amps and its average amperage when charging our 2024 Prologue is around 47.7 amps. We gained 150 miles of range in just over four hours - ideal for overnight charging at home. While you might get away with a cheaper charger in warmer climates or a garage install, the Grizzl-E is the best value for an outdoor installation in the northern United States.

You will need to have a dedicated 2.4 GHz network to connect to the Internet and app; I just got a Wi-Fi extender to accomplish this. If you do not see the local network, you have to cut off power at the breaker and let the system reboot so that it turns back on the wifi transmitter. Solid construction for the enclosure and a smaller form factor. I would recommend it. I do see why reviews complained about the cord and connector, but it is not the worst set up.
