I initially posted a review that basically said the Hardware is Great, but I was struggling with the APP and and getting the charger set up on WIFI. I reached out to Grizzl-E technical support. They were helpful! All is well now! I deleted my initial 3 star review (my bad) and am replacing it with this 5 star version. Summary: The Hardware is Top Notch. We went with the white unit. It has a beautiful white aluminum enclosure and looks nice in our garage. No Plastic. Its built to last. Status indicator is super bright. There seems to be lots of issues with wifi connectivity. I initially also had issues. The issues were with me and not the unit. Here are some tips that worked for me. 1). The unit as they clearly state needs 2.4 GHz connection speed. Period. 2). My router allows me to set-up a password protected "Guest Network" that can run at the slower 2.4 GHz. This guest network is not allowed to share information with my higher speed wifi network that is used for our home. So there are no security concerns. I initially was very unsure about this. 3). I had to configure my i-phone Safari browser to allow access to non https ip addresses before connecting to the charger with the provided ip address. Failure to do this will prevent the initial communication needed to connect your charger to your 2.4 GHz network. 4. After 15 minutes, the chargers wifi network becomes hidden. If you are slow, and fumbling around as I was, you will need to power cycle your charger breaker to re-enable the 15 minute access. Once you are all hooked up, having it become hidden is obviously a good thing. Once I did the above, connection was achieved and the app and communications seems to be working fine. Our Charger is located in our garage, and our router is attached on the opposite side of the same 6 inch insulated wall, but is 10 feet higher. Signal strength is very good.

I’ve had this for almost four months. This was the cheapest WiFi-connected charger that also allowed you to set amperage limits via physical switches in case the WiFi is down or the product isn’t supported. I’ve been very happy with the product: +charges consistently with no issues +seems extremely well made and weatherproof +charge cable doesn’t get stiff in cold weather +app interface is pretty easy to use and allows easy scheduling, which is the mode I use most +easy to paint to match the house color (with primer first)… definitely wasn’t leaving random bear claw and cyber truck graphics in the front of my house, but the powder coating is really nice and painted easily -as many comments have mentioned, the WiFi connectivity range isn’t great. My router is approximately 30 feet from the charger, but they both happen to be along the plane of an exterior wall. The charger lost its connection about three times in the first week I had the unit and the only way to reset that is to reset the breaker although that’s not particularly difficult. However: by simply moving my router out a foot or so from the wall inside my house, so that the router was not literally just transmitting through the plane of the wall to get to the charger, it seems to have maintained a connection with no interruptions for the last few months. So perhaps not the best connectivity but really hasn’t been an issue.

Recently leased a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE and wanted a level 2 charger. My Electrican recommended Grizzle and initially looked at the classic 48A but could only find with J1772 connector. Decided to spend $100 more for the Ultimate 48 with NACS connector and not have to use an adapter at home or try to swap cables and charge connector myself later. This gave me faster charging speed and more value for my money. I also like being able to monitor and adjust the charge rate from anywhere.

Install instructions are, at best, bare minimum to be considered instructions. The application doesn't connect as the pamphlet says, and there are no clear instructions on how to troubleshoot or what to do to get it working. Allen keys were not the correct size and were instead stripping the screws. Works without much setup once it's all plugged in, which is the saving grace and the only thing advertised that actually works, hence the relatively "high" rating given everything else was a mess or just plain didn't work. A nice addition is the fact that the charger has a "cap" and a hanger to manage the cable, and the charger/handle button to open the charging port on the Tesla works. I'd return it and get a different one if it didn't mean having to possibly rewire for a different charger.

Best way to charge at home! New EV owner and this charger has helped be grow comfortable in having one. There is an app you can control with the phone app. You can schedule charge times and disable use if you want to. So much faster than using a regular plug.

It’s a little inconvenient to connect the charger to wifi, and even less so to integrate with Home Assistant, but ultimately I’m happy with the purchase!
