Super lightweight and charges faster than the one that came from the dealership. I was reading up and didn't realize there are different options for quick charge. This is a nice charger that has everything we wanted in a home charger. First off it was in our price range, It is a 48amp charger, and it has a heavier and longer cable as opposed to our old charger. WiFi was a must have and we are glad we got one with it. The plugs fit well and are not too tight or too loose. We have used it a nightly for a month now and we are happy with it. We upgraded from our old charger but kept it as a back up. I'm still on the fence, but I'm considering a small EV car for local use. I do not trust an EV on a trip! It's an hour round trip to go to town on a good day, and hour and a half or more when the tourons (tourist morons) are out in force. There is ---ONE--- EV charger in town! Located in a restaurant parking lot, it often has a waiting line (!) for charging. There's no way I'm sitting in a restaura nt parking lot for hours on end waiting for the battery to charge, so a home charger is the only viable solution. There are bigger and faster chargers, but this one, at 32 amps, will charge an EV over night. It is well made, and it is definitely sturdy! It is light enough to call it portable, too, and it comes with a nice carry bag. What's not portable is the power plug. If there is no mating socket where you're going, you are about to be stranded! This looks like a good bet for home charging! ... show more

You can without much of a stretch change the charging amps by means of the gadget, ideal for streamlining charging speed and dealing with your home's power load. The actual charger feels extremely solid and all around made without being excessively massive. I love that with its 25ft rope length I can charge my vehicle from one or the other side of my carport. I purchased this for our new Bolt EUV at home. It's important to use trusted brands for electric car chargers. This is a known brand and has ETL listing so I am comfortable using it for my Chevy Volt. I had an electrician install a 240V outlet in my garage to charge my car and this works well for me.
