Easy to install, looks good, extremely well priced. It has been difficult to find a cover like this that lasts. This has a heavy duty design and the opening makes it easy to add wood.

This item is heavy and well made. However, it did not work well with my Cuisinart fire pit. It needs to be on flat cement retaining wall stones that surround many fire pits for stability. I will try to drill 4 holes through the heavy iron band on the smaller half, and through the rim of my Cuisinart, and see if that works. It would be great if it did.

The iron used in this product was very good quality. The hinged lid is really nice and the weight of the iron makes me feel confident that the lid will not become compromised by the wind. The grid is the right size to get embers. Very pleased with this product

I bought this screen to replace an old rusted-out screen from the fire pit we've had for years. This screen is accurately sized and the diameter matches my old screen perfectly. I'm not sure how much I will like the hinge feature. My old screen was one piece, sturdy but fairly lightweight; I had to lift it off to add wood to the fire, which could be a bit awkward and risky. The hinge seems like a great option to avoid that for routine use. On the downside, the overall screen is HEAVY, and if I had the need to lift it off the pit (or the burn barrel I sometimes used the old screen on) the two halves swing independent of one another. Lifting it off when hot is just too dangerous to attempt unless I wire the halves together to "lock" the hinge, and even then it's much heavier to move. I think it will be great for the fire pit but I'll need something else for the burn barrel.

I bought this instead of paying the outrageous price for the Solo version. Once you take the ring off the Solo this screen fits fairly well (there is a small gap on one side but that doesn’t affect the performance). Small sparks still fly out but it completely stops anything larger. I like that it has height as well as a retractable screen which allows for easy wood loading. Obviously it shields part of the heat but I find that if the wood is dry enough you can open the screen which then deflects the heat at you. Perfect for a deck! I’ll revise my review if it doesn’t withstand the heat but or breaks down but so far after 4 burns it’s been solid.
