When searching for a new EV charger - I wanted to find one that provided a quick charge and also one that can be used indoors or outdoors. I did some comparing and I kept coming back to this set made by the AMPURE store. I found that this level 2 charger was engineered to meet the needs of consumers who want a fast and reliable charge. Nema 14-50, this charger has proved to be reliable and I've not had any issues with mechanical or tech failures. This is "ENERGY STAR" certified and made with premium grade materials. *Special features: 20 Foot charging cable- LEVEL 1 or 2 charger-indoors/outdoor usage- Universal fit with SAEJ1772 compatible *all weather usage - Ip67 Water resistant rating *Dual voltage *Compatible with all US EV's and plug-in hybrids sold in the USA *Carrying case for easy storage All in all, I find that the engineer did a really nice job with this EV charger. Ampure is a well known brand in the EV charging world. This charger is sold at a slightly higher price point than most 'entry level' EV chargers but Ampure has earned that right by constantly delivering performance and reliability. It doesn't exactly 'break new ground' but it does everything you expect from a quality J1772 charger. This includes built in protections that you find in any EV charger from a legitimate manufacturer--eg: overheating protection, over voltage protection, under voltage protection, short circuit protection, etc. Personally, I like more information about the charging process but you can't deny this is as easy to use as it gets. Product is very well made and has just about every certification imaginable including UL and cUL, Energy Star, IP67 waterproof certification, etc. I ended up using this as the 'backup' portable charger in my wife's vehicle though you could easily make it work as your primary charger. First rate product. Highly recommended!

These are pretty simple pieces of equipment - most chargers are identical on the inside. This one works as well as the one I received from my EV manufacturer. The temperatures and charging rates are in line with the other product I have. For the price this was listed at when I placed my order, this is an excellent value for the money.

What we liked: - UL safety rated charging device - Level 1 and 2 charging depending on power source - Decent length of cable What we don't like: - The huge price tag for such a basic charger - The very short cable between outlet and the charger body - Check the 220v plug matches your outlet The good news is this is a solid charger, in both level 1 and level 2 modes it works, and the UL safety mark means I'm not overly worried about it misbehaving and setting fire to my car or garage. It works as a charger, check. Unfortunately, for doing the basic task of working as designed, it comes with a hefty price tag. I've used charger half this price that provided more information about the charging current, time charged, and other relevant information. This Ampure GO unit really is bare bones, and that makes the cost hard to justify. It's the charger I might leave in the car for emergencies to give me a level 2 option but make sure you have that bundle of 220v plug adapters on hand because it comes with a NEMA 14-50 plug for level 2 charging. This is great if you want to plug it in at an RV park or have a dedicated 50 Amp 14-50 outlet at home, but it doesn't fit my dryer outlet without an adapter. So it does what it is meant to, and appears well made, but has no useful "convenience" features and costs far more than similar units. The best I can do is 3 out of 5 stars.

This level two ev charger will put out 32 amps and that is almost as high as you can go in level two charging. It is certainly enough to top off the battery of a fairly large EV in an overnight charging situation or completely charge up the battery of a small eve in just a couple of hours at a destination charger, say four hours maximum. The controls are very easy and there are multiple NEMA plug configurations that can be used.
