2024-07-05 Update: Customer support contacted me and is sending me a replacement. Update to 4 stars, 1 off for getting a hole so early. Let's hope it was a fluke. ------ Update: Hose sprung a leak after only 6 weeks of use! Really loved the hose but this is crazy. Contacted customer support. Still waiting to hear back from them. Updated rating to 1 star. ------------- My 1 yr old expandable hose sprung a leak. I decided to give this one a try. I use my hoses very lightly, but on a daily basis - just to water a few plants. However they do see some sunlight when stored (but not a lot), and I'm suspecting that may have degraded the material. Anyway this hose appears much more durable, it's very lightweight, it coils for storage very easily, and its much easier to uncoil and drag around the yard for watering. A nice sprayer as well. I'm projecting that the outer polyester covering will endure the sunlight much better than my expandable hoses do. I've got two other expandable hoses. As soon as they break I plan to replace them with more of this type. My one and only complaint is with the cheap rubber washers they supply with all hoses (including this one). You have to tighten them real well to completely eliminate leaks. I replaced them with silicon washers. They are only a few cents more than rubber washers and work much better. I highly recommend this hose.

These hoses are great, they seem sturdy, they don’t kink and they’re easy work with and put away since they’re flexible when empty. They are not the kind that expand with water and shrink when you turn the water off. The diameter is smaller than some regular hoses so they are not as high flow as a large regular hose, but perfect for use around the house. I’ve bought more in different lengths and all seem good.

When it was brand new, the softness of the hose is amazing. I installed it in August and used it for watering vegetable garden watering for 20 minutes a day. The hose was coiled to a holder and hided away from sunshine. However, after one month into the watering, the hose busted and broke near one of the terminal, water gushed out. I opened up the black cloth outlayer, found a large crack in the inner layer along this white plastic tube. I tried to repair it using an inlet&clamp kit but the tube kept on wore and crack after another week. This is a pierce of carp, very poor durability, only fancy on the appearance and work when it is brand new. This hose does not last!

I LOVE this Giraffe Tools 50ft Lightweight Garden Hose! It’s incredibly light, which makes it super easy to move around the yard without all the wrestling and dragging that comes with heavier hoses.
