I've had it set up for a week or so and it's worked well... once I finished getting it set up, which definitely took a while. Motors work well and aren't too loud. Controls are pretty obvious. Desk is huge and very stable. I like it quite a bit, especially given the price. Came in three packages - one for the base and one for each desk segment. I wanted this for upstairs, and the package with the base was incredibly heavy, so much so that it was too heavy to carry upstairs, so I had to take the parts out downstairs and take them up in several trips, which took a while. A couple of the instructions where a bit unclear, which made it take a bit longer. Then, as you may have read in other reviews, you will need to drill holes, as the pre-drilled holes on the desk boards they provide are for other models. They are clearly mixing/matching parts that weren't originally designed for each other, which I knew was the case going in and I was okay with--and it does work out fine--but obviously added additional time to the process. Plan your holes carefully. I recommend positioning the end of the base as close to the edge of the board as possible before drilling; I mistakenly drilled and fastened them a few inches in from the end of the board only to realize my chair wheels hit the desk feet bars, so I had to unfasten, loosen the screws holding the support bars, move the base, drill and then screw in again. All told, the process took quite a bit longer than I expected, even knowing ahead of time that I'd need to do a little bit of manual drilling. In the end, though, the result is a nice, huge, motorized sitting/standing desk that looks decent enough and definitely gets the job done for a very affordable price. If you aren't at least a little bit the DIY type, this may not be for you. ... show more

TLDR: Well constructed, extremely thick surface, smooth operation, easily comprehensible installation instructions, and the desk absolutely can be configured in either direction, despite what other reviews may claim. **Cannot speak for longevity, however after immediate installation I am exceedingly impressed** I rarely, if ever, write Amazon reviews anymore, however I had to put in my two cents regarding this desk based upon other reviews. First and foremost, this review is specifically for the "VIVO Electric 78 x 55 Inch Square Corner Memory L Shaped Stand Up Desk (White)". The desk that this unit replaced was an exceedingly expensive & entirely bespoke build from a big-name-brand manufacturer. I was reluctant to replace it, however I found myself planning the remainder of the space AROUND that desk, which after careful consideration, I had to admit just wasn't going to work. I needed an L-shaped desk to maximize the space. PRODUCT: I did a TON of research on Amazon-available options, as it wasn't in the budget to replace my preexisting desk with another expensive option (over double the price!). This unit checked ALL of the boxes I was looking for - TRIPLE motor, TRIPLE telescoping legs, THICK table top AND the tabletop is made of two pieces (as opposed to all other budget-friendly options that make L-shapes in three pieces). The overall construction is extremely sturdy. The tabletops are easily aligned for a flush feel/look/work space. The motors are quiet & also flush with the underside of the desk, eliminating (ugly) motors that protrude downward & take up leg room. The height adjustment is wonderful in that it goes TOO LOW at it lowest setting & TOO HIGH at it's tallest, offering a plethora of sit/stand height range options suitable for almost everyone. INSTALLATION: This is the biggest point of contention that I would like to mention in this review that will hopefully deter potential buyers from the (many) reviews that question the installation process. I will admit that I am (unfortunately) a master furniture builder & very handy, so installation instructions make a lot of sense to me (even when they are completely wrong), however in the case of his desk - the installation directions were MORE than clear, extremely easy to follow, and if you simply read along you will be able to see that the desk absolutely can, without a doubt, be configured with either a left OR right side desk return (a lot of other reviewers claim it cannot & even say that there are components welded to the legs that prevent the installation from being versatile - this is FALSE!). Overall, this desk exceeded my expectations after the installation/initial operation - it's always a gamble ordering these types of this off Amazon, but this is a gamble worth taking. ... show more

After having the desk for a week, I feel like I can comment. Overall it's a good desk. Clearly China but not the typical China quality. Installation is not as bad as some make it out. One guy said it took him 5 hours - it took me about 1.5 hours and I could've done it in an hour had I known I had to drill my own screw locations. I've been tempted to return the desk because it is not deep enough at 23.5". If this is going up against the wall and you are using monitor arms, your monitors will eat up much of your desk space and your face will be up next to the monitors. I'm converting from arms to desk mounts to minimize this. The good: * Looks good (vintage brown) * Stable (if put together properly which seems to be an issue for a lot of other people) * 1" thick tops are solid for support things like monitor mounts * Tops are a robust material that won't scratch easily and are easy to clean * Longest dimensions on Amazon The not-so-good: * Too shallow (but this is my fault as it clearly says what the depth is in the description) * The support rails underneath make it difficult to find spaces to mount surge protectors and keyboard trays underneath. But, I'd rather have the stability, so worth it I guess. The Bad: * Instructions are worthless. However, there are links to videos that are much more helpful but even they skip a few steps. * Screw holes do not line up. YOU WILL HAVE TO DRILL SCREWS. If they would've told us that it would've saved a lot of time. I was thinking for a long time I was doing something wrong and had to call them a few times. Once I realized (after talking to the technician) that I was going to have to drill my own screw locations it was a breeze. * I paid $799 for the desk. When I went to their website to get the tech support number, they were selling it for $499. Thanks a lot. ... show more

I got the largest size (83x60) and it's pretty massive. Fits dual monitors and printer on one side and laptop, mail holder, and notebook area on the other side, as well as a plant and photos in the corner. Build quality is excellent. Feels very study and the motor lift is smooth. Assembly is not straight forward for large portions of the process. You're free to lengthen the stand as you wish, but there are no markers to tell you whether the lengths are appropriate for the desk size. Prepare to do a lot of measurements yourself if you want it symmetrical in all aspects. There are no useful pre-drilled holes on the desk itself either. I ordered the desk because I have to use two laptops for work and have ran out of space. To say that this desk is a pain to assemble is an absolute understatement. As a heads up, the product arrives in 2-3 boxes and comes over the course of a couple of days. Once you get everything, it’ll still take you anywhere from 2-4 days to assemble. First things first about assemble: 1. Directions are laughable and confusing. We assemble and build a lot - this is by far the worst set of directions we’ve ever used. 2. The screws are not labeled on the package so you have to spend time figuring out which screw matches the picture based off the obscure descriptions 3. The top does not come with any pre drilled holes. Or in this case, clearly predrilled and returned because it’s insanely difficult to configure. You will need to make sure you have a drill, and a drill bit to pre drill holes 4. It took several attempts to screw the tops in properly and level. Good luck here. We ended up having to use clamps to hold pieces together. 5. Be prepared to have crap fall on your face while assembly and increase the fury of rage that you’ll already experience from the aforementioned issues. 6. Make sure you’re in a solid relationship before attempting this madness…. It tests some nerves. Don’t recommend. If we weren’t so committed to this desk, and could actually try and return it, we would. ... show more

    • Actually pretty impressive

As the title says I’m pretty impressed with this desk. I got the 80 by 64 one and for the price I expected it to be a little janky but it seems all parts are fairly sturdy and robust. The table weights way more than I expected which is fine but you will most likely need 2 people to move this thing once it’s put together. I saw many reviews about terrible instructions which it seems they fix because the instructions were flawless for me and very easy to follow. I did use power tools which made the job much faster but it still took about 2 hrs. I have enough space for 2 computer setups, one setup is dual 24 inch monitors and the other is a single 35 inch monitor, they fit with plenty of room especially on the 80 inch side. The one and only thing I would improve about this desk is where the two table top desk pieces meet, the inside corner is not a perfect 90 degree angle because the corners of the desk tops are rounded, so it’s a bit ugly but I can deal with that. Also just a tip, when your doing the last steps and wiring the unit together, do a dry fit first, I ended up having to move the box that everything plugs into twice because I didn’t plan out the spacing very well, it was as simple as reversing 2 screws and moving it to where I wanted so not a big deal. ... show more
