I have used this pump for approximately 2 months and it has worked flawlessly. For the money I have not found a better pump for my use case. I am a HVAC and I use this pump to pump out the water of secondary drain pans when the primary drain clogs. I also used this to drain the cellar that had flooded at a customer's house. It has worked flawlessly for everything I have thrown at it. The only drawback I can see is it does seem to be fragile in that it would break if you dropped it on something hard like concrete. It's just a plastic housing with no rubber bumpers or anything else to prevent it from breaking. Needed a small pump to pump out my 5 gallon indoor rain catch bucket. Tried it out today and it worked great so it passed the first test. Gave it 4 stars for this first test. Next time it pours rain I will update as to how it performed. It is very quiet and, so far, I'm very happy with it. If I never have to empty that 5 gallon bucket again I will be exceedingly happy. UPDATE: My only complaint is I have to stay awake at night if it's raining in order to keep the bucket from overflowing onto the living room floor. Need a more powerful pump with auto turnoff. Other than that I am very happy with this pump so will be repurposeing it. ... show more

I use it to periodically pump water out of a horse water trough. I connect it to garden hose (need to buy the correct connecting pieces) and pump the water to nearby fruit trees. It doesn't have an on/off switch so bought one that plugs into the AC outlet.

This is the little pump that could. I didn’t have high expectations for this thing cuz of the price but it did exactly what I needed and am very glad for it. Every summer we fill up my sons 3ft pool and then it’s a real pain to let all the water out without flooding the backyard. This worked perfectly!!! I was hoping to just hook this up to my house. That was not possible due to the pump being more for piping that hoses, however…..I was able to Jimmy up my hose (which fit just over the nozzle) and it still worked. Yeah it probably took a little longer but still did the trick. The pump also took periodic breaks….. lol. Idk if that’s normal, but after a minute or so of it’s “break” it started back up fine ... show more

Hot summer day. I fell asleep under the ac. When I a woke, I remembered the pump as animals, birds, and squirrels mostly, drank the fountain near dry. The pump had stopped but after I added more water, it began to pump again. Not that I'd recommend this, as I am not sure how much damage otherwise may have been done. But it might be good to know that it cut off when it ran dry and recovered. ... show more

For the cheap price, it ran long enough before failing. It let the magic smoke out and I can't tell what exactly failed on it as the entire unit is potted. But like I said, it was quiet and pumped well for 2.5 seasons. Looking over the impeller, magnet and impeller shaft all look brand new. I suspect that the winter freeze / thaw cycle allowed whatever moisture found it's way into the potting (probably around the plug) was enough to cause internal damage which eventually lead to it's failure. It may help in the future for the manufacturer to put a strain relief on the power cord to prevent it from being loosened in the potting compound. ... show more

Bought this pump to empty and in ground hot tub in my back yard that the previous owners had not used in over 20 years. It only took about 2 hours to empty the whole hot tub. For a cheap little pump it was amazing. I’m not sure how great it works long term, but for 1 small project it was nice to not have to spend a lot for a pump I most likely will never use again. ... show more
