  • Great IR light for cheaper
I have used streamlight for 8 plus years never an issue. Fantastic little IR and white light for handgun or rifle. Haven't had time to really test it but it's held up fine so far. May not be as good as surefire but they are great and affordable options.

  • Almost, but not quite perfect.
Very happy with this light, works well both visible and under night vision. If you want nv capability on a handgun, it's hard to argue with this light, especially for the price. The laser is plenty bright for handgun distance, and the illuminator is pretty wide. Some people have found the laser doesn't contrast enough, but I don't see the problem here. White light is nothing special, but it does it's job just fine. The only real issue is that you have to remove the light to change the battery, which comes with the risk of changing your zero, and you can only check your zero under night vision, unlike PEQ type units that have a visible laser to check zero. I wish they had designed this differently. Also, the color is... odd... It's not bad, but it's certainly distinctly different from typical FDE type stuff, if this matters to you. I think it's an attractive color, it's just not like any other color I've seen on firearms gear. ... show more

  • Best low buget IR device! The IR laser is much better than I thought it would be!
The white light is not bad and you could certainly use it for that no issues. I use it just for the NV use. The IR illuminator is OK at best. The flood is pretty wide so it splashes off of things too close to you causing your NV to lower gain. I 3D printed a bezel for it that helped a lot. Just Google it and you can find that file. I can clearly see the laser at 300 yds on a clear night. I am not sure if I just got lucky but it is really good. Only things that are not great is you have to take it off the rail to change batteries and streamlight pressure pads do not play well with it. I only use it for IR so I do not have to change batteries often. ... show more

  • Price/Quality Ratio is Great
Laser is great, wished the turrets locked more firm. Illuminator is all flood, good to about 25m. Recommend for indoor use. Controls are easy to use. Good quality to price ratio when compared to higher end IR devices. DARQ (goonin gear) sells a focus lens attachment that allows you to focus the beam farther. ... show more

  • IR on a budget!
I was contemplating on this product for a couple of months now, finally pulled the trigger on it. I needed something small that will fit nicely on my Scorpion Micro for some night time plinking. I own the Dbal D3 and a Peq15, those units are bright and amazing for the price but they would look like a cassette player on a 5.3" Micro. Literally no real estate with those devices. So I received the package, did the whole unboxing. THIS IS WHERE the ONLY CON comes into play. The clip to unlock the battery door is a piece of sheet metal of some sort and it is a PAIN to open. I stabbed my thumb trying to open it with a flat head. With some frustration, I decided to grab a needle nose pliers and pulled the clip to open the battery try. Easy. BUT IT SHOULDN'T NEED TOOLS to OPEN! That is literally my only complaint on this product. Slapped it on the Micro and took it outside at night with some decent illumination. Slapped on my 1431 and tested the IR. I was amazed with how far the laser actually goes, I can't say how far to be exact but it's more than enough. As for the illuminator, it is amazing for how small the device is. Very impressed. I'm glad that I gave this product a try. Will definitely get another one if needed! I definitely recommend this product to anyone that wants to get an IR unit that isn't $700 - $3500. This was worth every penny. You will not be disappointed! ... show more

  • IR is noticeable from the froont, looks like two red LEDs
A little disappointed tbh - it didn't say the wavelength where I bought it. I've heard higher wavelength like 930nm is not noticeable to the human eye, for the price they should have used that. If you buy this thinking it will let you get the drop on a bad guy in the dark with nightvision, be aware this will likely give you away. Also the IR illuminator is a little too bright for the laser dot. Calmly walking around my house in the dark I can usually see and follow the dot, but it is only very slightly brighter than the illuminator, and I noticed loosing the dot with certain objects (shine/eflectiveness?) or objects that are very close (illuminator gets much brighter and washes out object detail/laser dot). That could be the fault of the sensitivity of NV device I was using however, I don't know (syonix). I have only used this for a few minutes so I can't comment on durability or battery life. ... show more

  • very good little unit. Best bang for the buck as far as an IR illuminator for a pistol.
very good little unit. Best bang for the buck as far as an IR illuminator for a pistol. If you need to zero this illuminator, simply purchase a bore laser for your handgun and use that on a wall to zero it without needing to go to the range.

  • Excellent.
Easily able to see the IR laser out to 400 yards with a PVS-14 monocular. Also fits in a safariland holster intended for a TLR-1.
