I was a bit hesitant when looking to buy my level 2 charger for a permanent install outside my home. The market is flooded with products that cover a wide gamut of price ranges. I saw this unit which looked quite nice, but a manufacturer can make anything look nice on a product page these days. That doesn't go far. What DOES go far is that there were tons of very high reviews from actual people. That was a good sign. I decided to do what I usually do and watch some Youtube reviews as well since this is an expensive investment. Everyone had this unit at or near the top of their recommendations. Once i received the unit I could see why. Build quality is extremely high. The box, the cable, and the connection handle all seem top notch. The box needs to be opened so that you can set the breaker hard cap to the appropriate installation. If you have a 50A breaker, you need to set the unit internally to the setting for a 50A breaker, or whatever is your charging circuit. This ensures that your car does not try to pull more than your installation allows. Once that is done you can connect the unit to your homes Wifi and then to your phone via the app. The app you can tell was designed with care. It's not just some generic base function crap. I really like that you can adjust the charging power. Obviously you cant charge faster than your hard installation but I like to charge at around 35A despite being able to charge at a full 50A since its easier on the equipment and wont generate as much heat. No need to charge at 50 if I don't need it to charge that fast. You can also have it set to only charge at off peak hours to save you money which is a cool feature. I have had ZERO problems with it being installed outside despite a blazing summer so you should be fine. Hope fully it will last but it seems to be built to. ... show more

The price of the unit was reasonable and I feel like it has the features I need. The installation worked out and I think the instructions were detailed enough for anyone qualified to install this (check selection on unit for amperage level during physical installation). I did not use the provided flexible conduit and opted for PVC instead for the power feed but was able to use the provided cable to make my connection as this was long enough. I ended up using some stand-offs to mount the backplate as I was mounting to siding so this was plumb - need a foundation or stand-offs for sloped siding installation. The charger head cable length works well and can be looped onto the provided holder. I was concerned at first with the charger head holder that it did not seem to hold it very tight but have had no issues with this coming loose. The app and LED indicators give me the information I need and they have worked well. Charging time has been great and have this setup for 40 amps which works well for my Subaru Trailseeker. ... show more

This EVIQO EV Charger was the answer to my charging needs for my Rivian R1T. Being a DIYer it was a quick and straightforward installation for me. Installing a 60a/240v breaker and running the 6 AWG wire allows me to charge at a level 2 charging speed that has me ready over night for whatever travel the next day’s travel may bring. The charger is well built of quality materials that should charge my truck for years. The cable length is good allowing me to charger in or out of my garage. The cradle that holds the plug end off the cable allows for excellent storage of the cable as well as the plug when not connected to the truck. The unit itself looks pretty cool there on the garage wall. I don’t worry about overcharging or heat buildup as this charger functions as I would expect from a quality electrical product. The app allows complete charging control however my Rivian app is what I use for all my truck’s functions. Bought our first EV and needed to charge at home. Our town had only two pay chargers and was charging 52 cents a kilowatt. Car came with a level one charger and would take all night to charge. Bought this charger after seeing great reviews online. Came well packed and with all fasteners to mount to a brick wall. Template had pre punched holes that made marking drill points very easy. Mounting plate detaches from unit with two security screws and comes supplied with security tool. Connected to our home internet very quickly. Used download app to set up charging schedule to correspond with our power company discounted night time power rate. We have used it for 4 nights and our EV usually charges to 80% in under 3 hours depending on use that day. Excellent charger. ... show more

The tubing is 1” for anyone looking to install it themselves. I had to dig deep in their website before ordering all the parts after ordering this. If you do it yourself like I did (I’m an electrician in the military) make sure it’s up to code! It looks great on the side of my house. It fits very snug. It’s super quiet and lightweight. Material seems durable and will last a long time (charger). It was a pretty penny but as long as it last for years to come it will definitely be worth it. I’m very happy with my purchase! The app is pretty nice too and super easy to use. My Tesla is a standard range so don’t get freaked out by the 32A. Only long range ones can get the 48. I got this so when I rent my house out if someone has an EV they can use it! ... show more

This charger has exceeded my expectations! I had it installed on the exterior of the garage higher up on the wall under the eve of the roof to protect it from the elements. I live in Florida and there hasn't been any issues with the heat or rain. It's been over two months and I've charged my EV about once a week. It works flawlessly with a consistent 40 amp charge every time. The app is incredibly user friendly and setup is easy. Having the ability to lock it and only give access to users you choose is a nice touch. I received an email a month after purchase from the owner to see how I was enjoying the charger. My only feedback was it would be nice to be able to dim the brightness of the light on the unit, but its not anything bad. He responded to let me know he's received that feedback from others and they're working on a future update. It's very refreshing to have that level of customer service and communication. I could not be happier with my EVIQO. I settled on this unit after reading a number of "top 10" lists and then taking a close look at the design. This is an outstanding product. 1. Incredible packaging. You could toss the box off a building and not harm the contents. 2. Clean, attractive aesthetics and a well-designed shell. 3. Simple, robust circuit board and internals. 4. Excellent iPhone app - Honestly, I wish the app for my EV was as good. I purchased the plug-in version, but I decided to convert it to a hard-wired install, with a straight run of 6/2 Romex direct to the 50A breaker at the panel. I figured pulling 40A for hours at a time, zero connections was the ideal number. Since my 70+ year old house has soft cinderblock walls in the garage, I made a mounting plate from 3/4" HDPE for the unit and the connector cradle. Incidentally, a close friend was looking for a new level 2 charger for his new home, and I strongly endorsed the EVIQO. I think he just ordered one. Thanks EVIQO for an outstanding product. My first and only home EV charger. Is it better than "brand ?". I do not know. We got it professionally installed with the new amp and line for the wife's new '26 Subaru Trailseeker. This brand/model was heavily favored for reliability and function. After about a month of use. It seems to work well. The car doesn't complain, so I guess I won't either. The app is kind of basic. But, gives enough info to be helpful. The charge cable itself is thick and a bit stiff and does not coil up as easily as my garden hose. The upgraded kit I bought showed a green glow/light on the wall dock mount. It was not included, but the company did send me one, Thanks. And the glow, is minimal glow-in-the-dark that fades quickly. So glad the company rectified it quickly, good customer service. Ultimately, they should just remove the misleading pic that was up when I bought. Overall, good to great charger. Price is medium to high, sales might change that. We paid less than $400. It runs full power as claimed to car batteries. 5 hours or less to 90% (full for daily drives). And with utility rates in our area at about $0.10 all day long. It really is just a few dollars to fill up. Lately about the price of one gallon of gas to fill her car for 250'ish miles of range. Of course that's not from zero percent, but often less than 30% to 90%. So, my wife and I are happy with this purchase. If it lasts as long as the car.
