The media could not be loaded. This is an extremely practical level 2 ev charger. Everything is thought out in advance. The J1772 connector is so ergonomic. It’s really durable and fully rubberized. The clasp on top of it is made of metal, very robust. The button gives a very satisfying gentle click when pressed. Feels like it’s gonna last for a very long time. The connector is also equipped with a special rubber cap. I’m gonna use my ev charger level 2 in the garage so I won’t need it still it is a nice free bonus. The cable is 25’ which is very convenient. If you have a messy garage area you can easily keep the car at the doorway and charge from there. The input cable is literally LONG. With a length of approximately 3.3 feet, you have lots of flexibility to position your electric car charger strategically, even if the NEMA 14-50 outlet is in a space occupied by other items. The holster is highly practical, capable of securely accommodating 2 loops in width and 5-6 loops in height with ease. The station can also hold the cable as the face part is wider and the back part is inclined towards the wall. So you can store the cable on the station, on the holster, or mix. I’m using the holster cause I don’t like built-in holsters as it’s difficult to insert the connector if the port is too close to the wall. Even though there’s the input cable with NEMA 14-50 plug included (the plug is UL marked too), I decided to hardwire my device as I want to get all 48 amps of it. The device is preset for 40 amps as it has NEMA 14-50 plug. To get 48 amps, you have to set the dip switch inside the EV charger from 2 to 3. 2 on the dip switch gives 40 amps, 3 gives 48 amps. Pretty easy. There’s also a mark saying the lead-free solder is used in this device which is another safety bonus. This level 2 ev charger is eligible for the rebates - UL compliant, it also has ETL, Energy Start and FCC certificates, so I will apply for the federal tax credit. After you set up the app - you can change the amperage inside the app with 1 amp increment. The amperage slider is very convenient. By default the charger is set for Plug & Charge mode, but you can easily switch to Schedules, Delayed Start, or just use the start/stop button. Lots of smart features, you can also set your electricity rates and track the costs. I like it, it doesn't look like some old school interfaces out there. I recently had to replace my old level 2 EV charger, which broke down after about 3 years of use. I needed a new EV charger that was not only reliable but also fast. EVIPOWER exceeded my expectations in both regards. It comes preset at 40A, with a Nema 14-50 plug and a reasonably long input cable. For those who need even more power, you can hardwire it to get 48A (just remember to adjust the output amps using the dip switch). Installation is pretty simple and I was able to mount the charger on my wall within minutes. Since 40A is sufficient for my needs, I didn't have to hire a licensed installer for hardwiring my level 2 charger, which saved me a significant amount of money. With EVIPOWER, I can charge my car at 40A (around 9.6 kWh), equivalent to approximately 36-37 miles per hour. The EVIQO app allows me to adjust the current using a responsive slider in a sleek and user-friendly interface. I prefer to use schedules for charging, so once I've configured them and selected the amperage for each, all I have to do is plug in the connector before the scheduled start time. The app sends a helpful push notification an hour before the scheduled start, making sure I don't forget. So, for example, at 11pm I get the notification and plug in the EV charger. The charging starts at midnight and finishes at 5 am in the morning. I wake up, see my car charged, check the session summary and the consumption/costs charts. I’ve also set my electricity plans and the EVIQO app automatically calculates my costs. I tested a few electric car home charging stations before and the durability of this charging station is impressive. It's designed both for outdoor and indoor use and the premium materials feel solid. The 25ft output cable is the longest I've come across, and its flexibility and rubber jacket are notable improvements over my previous charger's plastic cable which got stiff in the cold weather. What I also like is the J1772 connector on EVIPOWER. It's heavy-duty, with a rubberized surface that provides a secure grip, and the metal tab gives a reassuring click when pressed. I took a photo of my old charger connector and EVIQO. The difference is huge as my old charger had a connector with a glossy slick surface which has no practical sense while it’s raining, snowing or if your hands are sweaty. The provided rubber cap is well-designed, and overall the construction of EVIPOWER is superior to my previous charging station. The customer support team is highly professional and responsive. When I inquired about adding a second user to the app, they not only provided guidance but also offered assistance in finding local incentives in Colorado, in addition to federal programs for electric car home charging stations. It's worth noting that EVIQO EV home charger is UL compliant, has ETL and Energy Star certifications, making it eligible for various rebates and incentive programs.
