I am enjoying my Evdance charger. Installation was easy. I mean I hired an electrician but I helped. We already had 220 power at my house from a jacuzzi we used to have. It was in the backyard so we had to route it to the front of the house. Note: The grey lock box in the photo does NOT come with the charger. My electrician provided it for a way to lock up the charger to prevent driveway pirates. I could have just had a 220v outlet installed but a thief could unplug and walk away with it or I would have had to unplug and stow it away daily to prevent theft. Anyway I like the clean design and it’s really easy to use. The cable is long enough to reach my car whether I park first or second in our tandem driveway. I also feel the the price was reasonable. I highly recommend Evdance!

SUMMARY 4.0-stars--Works just like it promises, quite acceptable, no complaints BACKGROUND This came up as a Vine suggestion and it looked worth reviewing since it was the first 40A charger that has been offered to me to review. INITIAL OBSERVATIONS It appears to be manufactured acceptably. I did not notice any obvious defects during the initial examination of the product. The cable seems sufficiently flexible and appears to have a rubber coating, not a polyurethane coating. This is good if you live in a cold climate since rubber stays flexible in colder temperatures. Not that this is really an issue here in the Texas Gulf Coast area where I am located. COMPLAINTS / ISSUES I just wish it was possible to rewire it directly to the panel and that it would support 48A. Price is probably a bit higher than it needs to be since there really is not much difference between a 40A unit and a 16A or 32A unit. IMPRESSIONS This is a preliminary review of what I've experienced after a few days of testing. I will be updating this review with a more detailed review after I've had a chance to use the product for an extended period of time. So far, after 7 days of use, I have not had an issue with the product. It charges at the 40A that it promises and upon completion of the charge, it recognizes the signal from the vehicle and shuts down the 240V going to the vehicle. The same cannot be said for another EV charger that I recently received for review and which caused error codes in the vehicle. That is NOT the case with this unit though. It appears that it works just like it is supposed to work. The unit comes with a holder for the charging handle and the cable. The screws that come with it though are apparently only for use with the plastic insert drywall anchors. I tried using one to screw directly into a 2x4 stud and it ended up breaking off with only another 1/8" to go. Trying to remove that screw with a pair of pliers proved somewhat fruitless since it broke off yet again. At this point, I just grabbed a hammer, beat it into the wall like a nail, moved the holder up a bit and moved the NEMA 14-50 outlet a bit higher. My garage has "unfinished" walls, so this was easy. I ended up just using a couple of drywall screws that I had handy. The mount for the J-1772 connector resulted in it sticking out too far into my garage since I was mounting on on a side wall near the garage door opening, so I did not use it. Since the vehicle is a Tesla and this unit will always have the J-1772 to NACS adapter on it, the mount will not latch anyway to the handle, so I'll probably end up throwing it away. If you are installing the unit on the back wall of your garage and you back into your garage, I think that this would be a more useful piece. If you are mounting the unit on your side wall though, it makes the handle stick too far out and you might hit it. This is my wife's car, so I have to make everything "woman-proof". The unit does come with a bit longer charging cable and for the location where I installed my NEMA 14-50 outlet, that means that the cable is a bit too long, but that's better than being too short. I ended up installing a loop of rope on the cable via whipping twine and leaving it on a screw hook into the wall stud. I place another one a couple of feet from the handle and that should allow my wife to only have to remove hand point from the hanger -- less things to do means less things she can screw up. CONCLUSION I have found this product to be quite acceptable and have no real complaints with it. Sure, there are some things that I wish it did, but the ad does not claim that it can do them, so I can't fault it for that. Great charger. This is fantastic and works great. Car computer tells me how long it will take to charge and this charger gets in done in the exact time. Does not appear to over charge or under charge. Wish I had bought it sooner!

Used for my grand cherokee 4xe. The car itself In the codes said there was an amperage issue. Charger worked fine 4 months prior. Can’t return and no warranty. Customer service is non existent . STAY AWAY. Had to go to jeep three times to reset my car charging computer.
