  • Noisy at first
Old fan was really noisy and had bearing rattle so i bought this one to replace it. 4 bolts but because of the design of the pellet stove you have to be a contortionist, but that has no bearing on the replacement the new fan matched up perfectly. As for the sound. This fan is noisy for about the first hour or so (of each use) but then quiets down. I don’t know if this will get better with time but I’ll still take a fan that’s noisy for two hours as opposed to one that is noisy the whole time. ... show more

  • low price unit
arrived in timely fashion minus a gasket which is specified by manufacturer. very, noisy even after I installed it a 2nd time with a gasket. sounds like a helicopter in the house. usually a sign of bad bearings, etc. and prob not a good indicator of longevity. took about a week to get a return label and another few days for a refund. do yourself a favor and pay more for the best one you can get like from the manufacturer. at least it works nice and quietly and prob will last much, much longer. the restocking fee is troubling as I know and the seller knows these units are all defective. if you read thru other reviews you get to c the thread that runs thru the lot of them. caveat emptor!!! ... show more

  • Decent blower
Remove the back panel on the stove. Remove the two bolts holding the control panel, carefully set aside the panel. Got your 12-inch extender to take out the four bolts/install the new blower? Use it now to remove the four bolts holding the blower. If you have connectors between the old blower and the control panel, carefully disconnect the old blower. If you don't have a connector, get ready to splice, or order new wiring. This blower does not come with a gasket, so order one, or carefully remove the old one and glue it on the new unit (stove gasket cement, not Elmer's). Do not install without a gasket unless you enjoy metal-on-metal vibration noise. With the old blower out, take a few minutes and vacuum inside the stove. Hardest part is installing the new motor. If you're on your own (tight space anyway, so a second person may be only marginally helpful), try a folded towel to prop the new unit as you bolt it to the frame. Reconnect your wires, blower to control panel. Reconnect the control panel. You're ready to test. If all goes well, after shut down reconnect the back panel on the stove. ** I found the new blower no less noisy than the old blower. Arrived four days after ordering. Unit was in good shape on arrival. Price point seems a little high for a blower that's as noisy as the old blower. But, it's good to have the pellet stove heating the place again. ... show more

  • Make sure you order the right part number.
Part numbers are critical for this part. I ordered the right number and it went right in. Go to Englanders site and make sure you attach the common and hot leads to the motor correctly from the board. Englander's site has great information to help you verify your part and testing. They have a great tech help line, have only heard, never had occasion to use. The part was a professional motor and assemble - lot more cfm than my original. ... show more
