We have purchased Abba Patio umbrellas from Amazon for many years. Formerly, we could buy Abba Patio umbrellas made with Sunbrella fabric, which is ideal for the outdoor environment in Florida, however, Abba Patio seems to not sell this option anymore. After several years of purchasing non-Sunbrella umbrellas from Abba Patio coupled with what seems to be declining quality, we finally decided to try a different manufacturer. I am impressed by Elite Shade patio umbrella. We assembled and put up today and it seems to be very well made and thoughtfully designed. Rather than have a crank-based or pulley-based opening mechanism, it has two gas struts to assist with opening and a simple pin and lock mechanism. I really like that. As others have mentioned the pole diameter is larger than other patio umbrellas, however, it fit our table and the base (which had several gaskets to accept the larger diameter). Frankly, it looks better than the skinnier pole with 11' diameter. Time will tell if the color bleaches quickly, but, if we get one-two years out of it we will be satisfied (and we will update the review when we have to replace the umbrella).

We ordered these for our pool patio at a luxury resort in Lake Tahoe. They are a beautiful color-- a deep and rich teal color with brown pole and accents. I love the pin mechanism that holds the umbrellas open--a more basic technique that I feel will be stronger and last longer than the "click up" umbrellas. Added such a nice touch to our patio!

Purchased the 11 ft Market Outdoor Cylinder Auto Push-up Table Umbrella by EliteShade. This does not use a crank to raise and lower the umbrella. Instead, when the pin is released holding umbrella in the the closed (folded) position it starts to open and you push it up until the pin connects to the upper pin hole locking the umbrella in place (see picture). To lower it, release the pin and it starts to slide down the pole, until it locks into place. But, this one will not connect to the lower pin hole to lock it. Have pulled down numerous times until it is at the lowest point and it will not click into place. It appears the lower hole is not in the correct location. Per EliteShades web site they do not have on-line or phone support. Support requires an email. It has been over a week since the email was sent, and no response. Tried their main office phone number, and no one answers the phone. Great umbrella, but if customer support is important to you I would avoid this product.

Very happy with the purchase. The umbrella is high quality and works great. The seller was easy to deal with and got my problem resolved very quickly. The canopy is thick and nice quality, crank is easy to operate. I can finally use umbrella on my own without any assistance!
