I'm sorry to say that we will have to return this item after only two weeks or so of use. When I first set up this umbrella, it was easily winched up but was very, very difficult to winch back down. Then, suddenly the entire winching mechanism loosened up to the extent that it was no longer properly operable and seemed about to come apart. This is now the replacement umbrella that we received after returning the first which was defective. The winch is a bit stiff when taking the umbrella down. Raising it is fine. Update: Changing my rating due to great customer service! I sent a message to the seller with pictures of the bent umbrella and they immediately processed a replacement even though the return period had just expired. That was excellent customer service! .............. Umbrella worked great for 33 days. The first strong wind that came in while the umbrella was up bent it and now it ia no longer stable...just past the return date. Go figure! ... show more

We bought two of these in 2023. Bright yellow (closer to gold) color. One is under a tree, the other in bright sunlight. One must endure constant abuse from neighborhood squirrels and birds above. Apparently one of the things our neighborhood includes is an abundance of dark blue berries, which, after passing through said animals, end up on our bright yellow umbrella. After one and a half seasons, these are still washing off with ease. There are still zero stains. Both still have the original color, and they stand up well to wind and rain. For comparison, our neighbor bought a competitive product from a local retailer. She had to replace hers withing a few months, by which time hers had faded beyond recognition. Elite showed up on multiple lists as a quality non fading market umbrella. I ordered the white one and each time it came in it had a pink/peach hue. First time I thought it was a fluke the second time I realized there was no quality control and were sending out a defective product. Buyer beware. You can even see a red thread in the second photo - I guess red yarn got in the dying process ... show more
