I've read all the reviews on this umbrellas and quite frankly I cannot understand any negative reviews. This is a well made and thought out commercial grade umbrella that has a heavy fabric and strong pole and arms. I like the pin that you can use once extended, to take pressure off the extension mechanism - none of my previous umbrellas have had that, and so the extension string finally failed. Wow! What a difference in quality over traditional and less expensive umbrellas. It looks much nicer with the pagoda look, handles winds with no effort, and is of significantly higher quality than most umbrellas. I left my 3-tier umbrella up all summer to protect a table from bird droppings. We had a thunderstorm yesterday; the upper plastic part of the pole broke and when it fell over, it bent the lower part of the pole that went through the table and pulled the entire teak table over on its side. Photos included. I bought it May 2, 2021, 5 months ago. I thought the 3-tiers would protect it from high wind. I guess not. I do not know if the plastic part was cracked to start with, but the box was not damaged. I bought this to replace a faded umbrella with no tiers and no plastic connection parts. That umbrella was left up every summer for 10 years and did not break. If you never leave the umbrella up in thunderstorms, it is very nice and just what you are looking for. It is so expensive! But only worked for one summer. I am asking for a replacement though I did not get the warranty. I will let you know if the vendor replaces it. If so, I will inspect the plastic part and watch the weather more closely! Update: the product failure was within the 6 month warrantee period but the company is classifying 24 MPH winds as "destroyed by a natural disaster" and not as failed during normal use. (I sent a download of the wind data for that day.) Still discussing this with them but am very unhappy with my $250 purchase. They are only offering to sell me a frame for $70 with the expectation that I can transfer the canopy and have a $320 umbrella. Update: They sent a replacement. It arrived broken in a different place. See circled area in the 4th photo and compare it to the first frame above it. Since I like the canopy style and color, I am asking them to send a replacement for the replacement. ... show more

I ordered this May 9 and it took several days to get here so I've had it about a month and a half. I live in the mountains of northern Az where it can get pretty windy and so far, this umbrella has stood up to the winds, though I do try to remember to put it down when I leave the deck. What I like: *Provides good amount of shade for the whole table, depending g on where the sun is *stands up to winds pretty well *fabric is the faxing (mushroom color) What I don't like: *Tilt button is too high for normal people to reach without a stepladder *crank is up under the umbrella so you have to force your arm up under it *top knob is plastic? *price seems a bit high for an umbrella I'd give it five stars if the tilt button was low enough to reach and the crank was more easily accessible. I'd give it three stars since it's so expensive and not perfect but it is really sturdy and does the job of shading so I'd say 3.75 which is closer to a four than a three so there ya go! ... show more
