This is a review of Electrolux cordless vac - the TLDR is I like it a lot. But first I wanted to bring up Dyson as it is the relevant competition. I have been a long time Dyson cordless vac user so I'm well qualified to write this review. I used the Dyson v8 for many years and now I use a Dyson v12 Detect Slim. I have a love / hate relationship with Dyson products. They can be great, but they frequently have some issues and the Dyson customer service is just awful. Google it. Long wait times. Replacement parts that never become available . Personally, I'm excited for a strong competitor to Dyson vacs to enter the market because I think Dyson would benefit from the competition, and I think this Electrolux is a strong competitor. I have been using this Electrolux daily for a few months and it has grown on me over time and I really like it now. At first, i was a bit skeptical. The head of the vac was a bit smaller than the Dyson vac, and the perceived suction power/noise is lower than the Dyson's at the highest settings. I think the vac is really elegantly designed in a lot of ways. It is light weight and the maneuverability is excellent. I love the design of the dust bin! It has a mechanism to trap the dirt on the bottom of the bin, which is brilliant. I find dumping the bin also a much better experience than the Dyson experience. As anyone with a hardwood floor knows, the key to dyson vacs is the fluffy head roller, and here the Electrolux also has developed a satisfying experience as well, with a great fluffy head roller for wood floors. On our carpets, I continue to be amazed by how much lint and dirt the vac picks up (although the bin does fill quickly when doing the carpets). The charging station is also pretty awesome and I prefer it to the Dyson stands. It is sturdy and feels sophisticated and luxe. Overall, I think this is a terrific cordless vac and we use it daily. I think in many ways the quality and design is better than our Dysons. If I had to quibble, the dust bin could be bigger and on the high end the power could be a touch higher. I bought this Electrolux cordless stick vacuum 2 months ago, and it has truly impressed me with twice or 3x weekly use. As a long-time Dyson user, I was initially skeptical, but this vacuum has proven to be a worthy competitor. Its lightweight design makes it incredibly easy to maneuver around the house, and the bin's innovative mechanism to trap dirt at the bottom is a smart feature. Emptying it is a much cleaner and more pleasant experience compared to my Dyson. The Electrolux performs exceptionally well on both hardwood floors and carpets, with a fluffy roller that glides smoothly over wood surfaces and powerful suction that lifts lint and dirt from carpets effortlessly. And wow--the charging station! Unlike the Dyson stands, this one is sturdy and has a sophisticated, luxurious feel. I also appreciate the relatively quiet operation, which doesn't startle my pets as much as the louder Dyson models. As a pet owner, I was particularly impressed with how effectively it picks up cat hair, leaving my floors spotless. While the bin could be a bit larger and the suction power slightly stronger at the highest settings, these are minor issues in an otherwise excellent product. Awesome to clean with -- I was very happy to get the chance to check out a vacuum cleaner made by one of the industry stalwarts. My corded, upright Hoover is 30 years old and is a workhorse. Have never had a problem with it, not even a belt change. While the Hoover will always have a spot as one of my cleaning tools, I have found that cordless units are very handy to have around. This one is very nice and easy to use. It's pretty quiet for a vacuum cleaner and much quieter than a Dyson (which one of my clients has). It doesn't have that brass, loud sound when turned on that startles every pet in the household. Very easy to maneuver around. It can go completely under my dresser. Love the LED light that helps you see what dust spots you've missed. Comes with three floor heads and four cleaning tools. The angled joint tool was great to use in my car. It has a unique way to store the accessories - they are clipped onto the base of the charging stand. The only issue is not all of the accessories will fit. I think only the nozzle tools are meant to be stored there so you'll have to find another spot for the other pieces. I like that the stand is self-supporting. No need to screw any holes in your walls like some other units. My place is pretty small with all hardwood floors and one low-pile runner. I haven't come close to using a full charge in one session. The manual doesn't seem to indicate just how much time you're likely to have on a full charge (or, at least I couldn't find it after a few read throughs). The one drawback that may be an issue for some is the dust bin has a max level that you shouldn't fill past. It's very a small amount of dust bunnies that it'll hold. My small place fills it up. Emptying the bin is very easy though. Filters are easy to remove and are washable. Overall, a joy to use. ... show more
