love this especially because this is a kettle that has no plastic exposed to the hot water. too me a while to really find this. the lid has a step opening where you can push it further back manually to make it open wider. one draw back is that it doesn't automatically turn off when the kettle is lifted off the base. if one puts it back it resumes the boiling operation. this can be a bit of a problem if there is little or no water after pouring it out. one has to physically turn off the switch.

The media could not be loaded. I very much love the clean sleek design of this electric kettle. There are no curves or extra details on the handle which makes it easier to clean. There could be nuisance with water spots if you place this kettle near the sink or water source, but it’s easy to wipe down. If you pick a lighter color, this won’t be a worry for you. I have to mention that I had to give this kettle a couple of tries because it didn’t automatically shut off the first couple of times I tried to boil water. The third time I tried, it worked perfectly. And it worked as it should ever since. I was worried about having to do a return - so keep this in mind in case your kettle needs a chance.

I searched long and hard for an electric kettle. Settled on this and love it. Heats up very fast. Water does not come into contact with any plastic. It is sleek, compact and fits easily on the counter. The lid opens completely (many do not) so it's easy to rinse and to fill. Auto shut-off is nice. This is my second one ... only because my cleaning lady submerged it into a sink of water and ruined it ... This, at the time was not available, so I bought something different and could not have been more bummed out ... Then this returned to Amazon and I ordered it immediately!

It does it's job boiling water when needed but the lid doesn't really open all the way when you press the button. You need to use your hand to push the lid all the way open. There's also this odd plasticky smell to the water after you boil it despite the water itself not tasting weird. Before I even used the kettle for making drinking hot water, I made sure to follow the instructions to boil water 3 times & discard that water, before using the kettle for drinking hot water. The kettle doesn't have any incredible insulation properties but that's most likely by design, so you will have to reboil any remaining water after an hour or so has passed. Like others have mentioned, the base/heating element is very light plastic. I don't hate it and am glad I can boil hot water in my room instead of having to go downstairs to the kitchen each time but I wouldn't necessarily recommend this specific kettle to others.
