  • Great sound and fit, but has questionable battery life.
Style: Wireless Color: Black
As the title states, these headphones feel and sound great to use! The microphone is also one of the more premium kinds that I have had the pleasure of using. Compared to my last pair of wireless headphones, the HyperX Cloud2s, the HS80s here are dang near the same level of quality except in 2 departments, one being good and the other pretty bad. For the good difference: Build Quality. This is actually a massive jump above the HyperX Cloud IIs as I managed to break multiple pair over the course of a few years from general use. But, so far this headset feels so much more durable! The Cloud IIs had shoddy materials used in the hinges that allow the headband to be adjustable, and I have also had issues with wired headsets of theirs give out too. Although I can excuse them a bit as they at least lasted over a year in terms of use, but the HS80s from Corsair feel like they could last me a few (3+) years in comparison. Next, the BAD difference: The main issue I have with the HS80s in comparison to the Cloud II's is the battery life, which is near ABYSSMAL. The battery on this headphone seems extremely bad for a headset of this quality and price-point. My HyperX pairs all lasted multiple DAYS between a full charge session. But the HS80 pair? It seems like I need to remember to charge them daily, even if I don’t end up using them, so when I do decide to play online with friends the headset has more than 40% battery. The other bad part is how fast the battery drains when in use. If at 40% when starting, it takes less than 2 hours to drain the battery to 0 and have the headset die in the middle of gaming. Another major complaint I have is the lack of notification of when the headset is low on battery. The Cloud II headset plays an audio noise when on to tell you its low on battery without needing to look at a task bar icon or anything. The HS80 set requires you to have access to the taskbar to be able to see the icon, which is a huge problem when the taskbar is hidden while playing any modern game in Fullscreen mode (borderless or otherwise) so I am in the dark on the power levels until all the sound vanishes and the headset just dies with no warning. This is a major gripe for me, a simple sound to notify me of a low battery would be leagues better than what is implemented now. Now while I have a fairly long USB-C cable to ensure the headset is powered while gaming, it seems like this headset doesn’t like being wireless as much as it does being wired. Final verdict: Would I recommend this headset? Yes. Though it’s battery is abysmal at best, overall the build quality, sound quality and Mic quality are all stellar for this price point. I just wish Corsair took a bit of initiative to make the battery be on the same level as the rest of the product. This headset gets a 4 out of 5! ... show more

  • Well worth the money
Style: Wireless Color: Black
This headset was a major upgrade to the standard PlayStation gold headset I was using prior, The headset itself works perfect with the PlayStation 5 just plug in the included usb dongle and you’re good to go, the headphones build quality is excellent only complaint I have with the actual build of the headphones is that although you can turn the ear cuffs themselves they only spin one way so if I’m watching a video or playing with them around my neck the sound is going into my chest and doesn’t really makes it’s way to my ears, another small gripe I have with the ear cuffs and this may very person to person but the overall clamp force is a little too tight for me I’m sure as they get broken in that’ll no longer be a issue but for now after a few hours of gaming it becomes unbearable to play wearing these and is why the ear cuffs not going in both directions is a issue for me lastly the Icue software to customize sound profiles or your lighting on the headphones doesn’t save when you use a PlayStation as soon as you plug them back in the headphones go to the default color layout and sound profiles really wish they made a app for the PlayStation or so that way it would save to the headset itself that is a key feature and sound be available to everyone not just pc, but this is me knit picking overall its well worth the money you’ll spend on it and even more if there’s a sale happening also I have to mention this THE MIC QUALITY IS THE BEST ON ANY HEADSET YOULL FIND , and I mean it the mic quality is truly shocking for a gaming headset absolutely amazing. ... show more

  • Good headphones for WFH meetings & music
Style: Wireless Color: Black
Had a pair of wired JBL headphones for a couple years - liked the way they sounded and were comfortable enough, but pieces of plastic would break off here and there and eventually the hinges for the L ear cup broke. Got by for a few weeks repairing with 2-part epoxy but eventually broke again. Wasn't like I was throwing these things around - just taking them off and on sitting at my desk. Went to a local brick & mortar to try on replacements and the Corsairs pretty much stood out - comfortable and not nearly as plastic-y as many of the other brands, even on sets twice the cost. Rtings.com seemed to agree re: better build quality vs. the competition. Was a little nervous at widespread reports of awful sound quality without the Corsair software, and read a review about how the quality was even terrible enough that they weren't really useful for MS Teams work calls. Well, without software, I thought the sound was ok - some popping here and there, and just kind of low-volume oomph. I did download Dolby Access and music sounds pretty good to me with one of the standard headphone profiles there. Work just fine for MS Teams calls and I like the auto-mute functionality of flipping the mic up. No ragrets here. ... show more
