  • Powerful and Truly Hands-Free!
Size: X9 PRO OMNI
I’ve been using the ECOVACS DEEBOT X9 PRO for a couple of weeks now, and it’s honestly one of the best cleaning devices I’ve ever owned. The suction power is amazing—picks up dirt, crumbs, and even pet hair with no problem. The mop feature is also impressive and does more than just wipe the floor—it actually cleans the mop rollers too. What I love most is how smart it is. It avoids furniture, doesn’t get stuck easily, and maps my home really well. The self-emptying and self-cleaning Omni Station makes everything so easy—I hardly have to touch it. If you’re looking for a robot vacuum that does both vacuuming and mopping right, this one’s totally worth it. ... show more

  • Smart, Reliable, and Pet-Friendly – Perfect Robot Vacuum and Mop for Dog Owners
Size: T80 OMNI
I bought this robot vacuum and mop after doing a lot of research online and watching many videos. I finally decided on the ECOVACS DEEBOT T80 Omni because the price is just right. It’s not as expensive as other high-end models, and it’s also not one of those basic versions that lack proper AI. This one offers excellent technology. What impressed me the most is the built-in camera. When I leave the house, I can check on my dogs through the app and even drive the robot like a remote control car. It lets me look around the whole house from anywhere, which turned out to be more useful than I expected. The deep cleaning is amazing. It picks up all the pet hair, doesn’t get tangled, and most importantly, it avoids stepping on dog poop. It detects everything and moves with precision. I also bought the original cleaning solution and it leaves a fresh, pleasant smell in the house. The app is easy to use, the robot empties and cleans itself, and it’s quiet. My two dogs got used to it quickly. If you have pets and want something smart and reliable without spending a fortune, this is a great choice. ... show more

  • Wonderful tool to keep floors beautifully clean!
Size: T30C
This robot mop and vacuum is life altering and allows one’s home, well floors, to be cleaned on auto pilot. Honestly, it feels like I am living on the set of the Jetsons. If you want a deep-cleaning experience, this bot will make you feel like Alice lives with you! The robot vacuum is super easy and intuitive to set up out of the box. It was super easy for me to set it up on my home's wifi network and I am not tech savvy at all. Once set up the mapping feature got right to work. After mapping I set her to work mopping and vacuuming my floors. She is so quiet I didn’t even notice her entering the room I was in. The edge cleaning is clutch in a home with 4 kids, a dog and a cat. The self emptying feature is so nice so I don’t have to worry about emptying the bot every single day. It’s super quiet even when emptying. Both the water and dust self empty, so you really do not have to worry about either on a daily basis. The auto clean of the mop pads is also super neat. This feature is the loudest yet still quiet. I couldn’t hear it in the next room over. My son sleeps in the bedroom behind the wall of the robot and it does not bother him. The obstacle avoidance works flawlessly. I have a couple of patio doors with fall offs and the boy avoids the area like a charm. The map has an option to set to avoid certain spaces I set up a space to avoid just to make certain it worked for when we put up a holiday tree. I am delighted to report that the feature worked as expected. Super stoked for this feature during the holiday season. Highly recommend this robot vacuum and mop if you are in the market for one. It’s truly freed up a ton of time for us. Our floors are super clean without expending any time or energy on them. ... show more

  • X9 Needs improvement (Ecovac is trying) - vs. the less expensive Dreame X30
Size: X9 PRO OMNI
One of the central problems with online reviews by vacuum pros is their houses: They are spotless. Everyone who reviews these things has, for example, a spotless kitchen, and has to spill coffee and wait 24 hours to demo the vac. Well, I suppose if your livelihood is reviewing vacuum-mops, it is hard to keep your house dirty. For a real-life review, perhaps the reviewers can sign up some slobs, so that instead of having a single spot to mop, they can have something more uniform in its need for cleaning. (I am being gentle.) So think, if you will, ground-in dirt in the mud room, in need of manual elbow grease, and then just multiply. However, give this robot enough tries (it took me about six or more cleanings over hours and hours) and things improve to a level of pretty good. Kind of three or four stars. So I carried it — and this is a problem, it weighs a lot — it to a noncontiguous room. The app forces you to declare multilevels to add a room. And then then mapping begins. Here was the first problem, as no matter how mapped it was, it mopped only part of the room. Re-mapping didn’t help. Giving up, I took it to the first room where it seemed more at home. And then, you know how they talk about a single flaw bringing down the mission? Here was this X9’s SPOF (Single Point of Failure): Stuck bumper. It looked fine. It was not stuck. It was clearly the most unstuck bumper I had ever seen, but no amount of rejiggering, or factory resetting, did anything. Ecovac would not move, and had become 100% useless. What does Maya Angelou say, “if someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” This is not something I want to keep, and back it has gone. Next I unpacked my other new robo, the Dreame X30 Ultra, at almost half the price, but lacking the Ecovac’s ability to roller-up dirt and move it into an inboard dirty-water tank; instead the Dreame has duo rotating mop pads. The theory for this, I imagine, is that if you go over the same soiled spot enough times (after the pads have been automatically washed multiple times) the end result should be OK. The first thing that surprised me was the Dreame app, which was more comprehensible, and the build, which was more Army-tank-like. The mapping and mopping were fine. As to its ability to remove ground-in dirt, I don’t know yet: it clearly is making progress. If it takes a few extra runs, well, you’re doing this overnight, so I don’t think it matters. The X30 is the old flagship model, not the one that raises itself (that’s the x50) over thresholds, but would have you do the manual labor yourself. Once again, we are but servants to our robot masters. The Aug. 13 2025 update to the Ecovacs X9 part of this is that the company (Ecovacs) has read this review and my email to them (I recommended adding an 'override' function to essentially say "this bumper is not stuck") and replied regarding the stuck bumper issue. They say "...regarding the 'Override' function ... we have promptly escalated to our technical team for evaluation" and have added that support there is collecting similar cases (rare they say). Of course, I'd guess the problem (software, firmware, hardware?) of claiming a bumper is stuck when it isn't might be hard to trace until they have one in hand. But, the mapping difficulties (not true for everyone, but for a significant subset) are another matter. They have a lot at stake, especially with Dreame announcing a roller-based model (Aqua10), presumably to challenge Ecovacs. As to the spinning mop pads versus the roller: Yes, clearly in theory, and somewhat evident in practice, spritzing clean water ahead of the rotating roller, and holding dirty water in the robot until it reaches the base to discharge, is the way to go. There are videos disparaging the spinning mop pads showing that they "just spread the mess." While this is true, it is not necessarily true. After the Eco X9 got my floors pretty clean (ground-in dirt) but failed on the bumper issue, the Dreame X30 took over. As predicted it eventually got everything spotless. Here is the moral of the story: If you are thinking of mopping up Cheerios and milk, you're going to need a roller model with a clean and dirty-water tank. But, if it's mainly ground-in dirt, or dry coffee and other already dried-up stains, you may well be satisfied with the rotating pads. (Due to an unfortunate scheduling error, the Dreame X30 headed into the dogs' wee-wee pads, and cleaning that by hand took a long while; probably rollers would have handled it better. Take note.) The smart thing to do: Manufacturers need to make a model minus a few of the most advanced features, at half the price. What do we value as consumers? No frustration, it should just map and work. ... show more
