The softener is a high quality unit and the customer service is about the best I have ever seen. I would give them a 10 out of 10. I would recommend using flexible hoses when connecting to the water line to make it easier to move the tank if you ever need to.

The media could not be loaded. I was hesitant to install this myself as I did not have any experience with water softeners. However, with Shark Bite fittings for the copper supply and return lines, installation, with the help of Youtube videos, was a snap. Also, Youtube helped with programming - also a snap. I ran it through a regeneration cycle and voila, up and running without any noticeable delay in getting soft water. I did have to add an electrical receptacle, but the breaker box was at the location of the softener so I just added an additional breaker dedicated to the softener and ran the wiring to a new, waterproof box. Also, next to the softener is a crawlspace which has a clean out in it. I drilled a hole in the cap and ran the drain line into it. Simple. ... show more

Install is fairly easy for the DIY person. You’ll need some plumbing work and perhaps electrical work if there’s not an outlet nearby. Before I bought the system, I tested my water with test strips, watched several videos online and did the calculations...several times... to ensure I was getting the right sized system for my home and family. I replaced a Culligan system that was here when I bought the house 2 months ago. The Culligan worked great but I couldn’t see paying $52/month rental when I could own my system which, at that rate, would pay for itself in about a year. I also went w Pentair bc they make the fiberglass cylinders which they pair w the highly touted Fleck valve and control unit. One month in and happy I made the switch. Can’t tell the difference. If you are going to do the DIY install, watch several videos, test your water and do the calculations first. ... show more

First of all, this was the fastest shipping I've ever seen!!! It came in two days!!! Amazing!! Aplus water needs 100 stars!!! I called them after hours for a quick question, and they called me back first thing the am!! It was packaged perfectly, no damage, and went together perfectly!! Never had a softener before, so my brother had to put in a loop for it, but only took about 2 hours total to plumb and install!! Great product!! I've had it running nowfora week, and can definitely tell the difference in our showers!! We had hard water of 23 grains, and now it's at 3!!!! So far so good!! Great product!!!! ... show more

Easy to install. The bypass valve could be a bit more sturdy but the one it comes with does do it's job. Cast improvement in my water quality. Previous softener was a mark 89 from 1991

Saw lots of great reviews, so I went for it. The Fleck 5600 sxt system installed easily and was pretty easy to program. You have to get your own flex lines and 1/2" drain tubing, but otherwise everything was included. I've had it for a month and it's working great so far. It was half the price of paying a company to install the water loop and provide the softener. I hired a plumber to run the loop and I did the rest of the installation (with this system I bought on Amazon). Loving the soft water! ... show more
