I centered over my deck, soon realizing that I should have offset it to shade the deck more from the sun, unless your sold purpose is a rain cover. The awning arrived in good condition without any damage. It is well built and functions nicely. When installing the awning, three brackets are mounted on the wall. My installation was high so I used two block and tackles to raise the awning to the level of the brackets. That made the installation easy.

Nowhere does it state this needs to be installed on a brick or concrete wall - including multiple pictures that show it mounted to the outside vinyl siding like my house is. The printed instructions state it is required to be mounted in only a brick or concrete wall and even the hardware to do so is also only for brick or concrete.

We had three estimates for awnings, each near $5000. Decided to roll the dice and try a DIY. Love it. Very robust construction. Yes you will need two big boys to lift it into place. Mine is mounted into brick. The masonry fasteners they give you need a 14 mm bit. Bought domestic ones to mount it because you can't buy that in US. It works great, with a little adjusting to get the angle right. Now we have another place to relax. Yes, it comes with a crank too. FIY, the motor-plug is on left. Beware not to pinch the antenna wire during installation.

I installed this myself. Wasn’t hard. Seems durable. Constructed well. Good fabric. Instructions are horrible. Grammar and phonetically incorrect. The support brackets are NOT made for siding! Yet I did get them to work. I had a previous one that the remote and motor stopped working in less than an hour after installing. There’s absolutely no company website or tech support! Don’t expect any help from anyone! Amazon asked questions and then just initiated a return. That’s when I just bought another one. It came quickly and since I had the brackets already in the siding, seemed logical to just get another one. I did learn that after extending and retracting 6 times in 5 minutes (to adjust the tilt) the motor overheats and stops working. Let it cool 30 mins and it’s working normal again. Wished the tilt was a mechanism instead of just bolts. PIA to adjust tilt. I hope this lasts a long time! Wasn’t cheap. Just wish there was a support center to answer any question. Can’t find any troubleshooting guides, answers or tips anywhere! Instructions booklet doesn’t tell you anything helpful! That’s why I’m giving it 3 stars. No company website, no tech support call center and instruction book was written by a horrible translator.

It's well worth taking the advice about getting help to install this. It didn't need three people but two were essential. I constructed a hoist at each end out of ratchet tie-downs and I would advise anyone trying this to do the same as getting this up to working height is no joke and holding it there would be a serious problem without mechanical help.

Hubby had a friend come help measure to install. Since we have an older house he cut out the cedar siding in sections ( see photo) and added a support piece 2x6 piece in the cut out. The brackets then went on as per instructions. Once that was done just needed other person to hold up the other end and hook them on and Voilla!!! Plug in and play! They look great and the quality is quite nice. It repels water great. In the winter we will prob have them in quite a bit cause it rains a lot!! We love the fact that it has a metal housing so the cloth will not get moldy when retracted. Love the automatic feature.

The media could not be loaded. Good quality and easy to install since it came completely assembled. Just install the three wall brackets, unpacking and install. From start to finish 2 hours.carful mine came with the electric motor at the left side facing the owning. I don’t know if they come right side couldn’t find the details anywhere, it didn’t bother me since I’m a contractor I fished romex from back wall outlet and installed water proof outlet at the left side since my existing deck outlet was on the right side. Very simple addition!!
