I have a ton of DeWalt tools and accessories and absolutely loved this brand, so when I got my first EV, which didn't come with an EVSE, I figured id go with a brand I trusted, unfortunately this trust was misplaced. The first one I got was defective, I kept getting an error code no matter where I plugged it in, I exchanged it for a replacement, which worked out of the box for almost a month, then it just died, no error codes, nothing at all. Luckily it was still within the return window so I sent it back, and went with a Grizzl-e instead. It really is a shame, perhaps they should just stick to power tools

I am older and no longer drive as much as I used to, but I have this for when I avail myself of the senior pass in national parks and their campgrounds. I have found those that have RV hookups have a 30 amp outlet so I can load up my car for a camping trip, include this and make sure my car has a full charge before I head back home. And if it becomes an emergency, I found that many of the large truck stop facilities have 30 amp outlets. I might have to hang out for several hours if it came down to it, but it's nice to know with this portable unit, I'm ready should I need it. It works great!

Oooooh, this charger is so well made. Dewalt is a leading brand for a reason, and the quality between this portable charger the more affordable off brands out there is noticeable from the second you look at it. This is clearly top quality. It charges quickly and efficiently. It will probably last me until it no longer fits any car I may have or the technology is updated. This will be a one time purchase and be done with it type deal. I do wish it had a screen that gives pertinent information such as charge time, which is pretty standard these days, but I can live without it.

This charger is constructed very well. The connections are solid and secure. The charger module is no nonsense plug and play. Don't be fooled by chargers with timers and other features as that just makes them prone to hiccups or errors. The first time using it was seamless and it just works. In my setup, I used a nema 10-50 electric range outlet with an adapter to 14-50 female receptacle. In between that adapter and the charger is a 14-50 30 foot extension of 6 gauge wiring. On a warm day there is no sign of the wiring getting warm at all. The charger runs at 7kwh to charge my 38kwh battery in about 6 hours. The carrying case is decent enough if not just a little small. I worry about leaving it in the car in plain view as the black and yellow DeWalt branding might prove tempting to a thief. :) I'm very happy with this unit, 4 stars!

This charger overheats and then will have internal relay failure. Contacted DeWalt and at first they were very helpful, sent out a replacement. Replacement coded over current on third use. Contacted DeWalt again they had me send a picture of the date code of the new one and then they said it was probably the charger and would send out another one. Then a day later I received a email saying this was not purchased from an authorized dealer and they will no longer support or warranty it. I feel that they have a weak point at where the threaded cord connects to the charger. It does not look like it is made to handle 32+ amps.

I have been using DeWalt tools for a long time but never expect an EV charger from DeWalt. The package came with the charger with 20 ft cord and a J1772 on the handle, a NEMA 14-50 adapter, a nice carrying case, and a large instruction manual. This DeWalt EV charger is very well-made and looks fantastic. It has a waterproof rating IP66 which is great for outdoor use. The connector is sturdy and locked securely onto my Honda Clarity Hybrid J1772 charge port. The charger support up to 32Amp so I can fully charge my car in 2 hours from empty. The digital display on the front shows helpful information, power and charging status. Although it does not have many smart features such as WiFi connectivity, what it has is DeWalt quality feel to it and I expect it's built to last. I love the look and function of this DeWalt EV charger, and I highly recommend this product.

In the US, EV chargers seem to be consolidating on the NACS (Tesla) connector. It's different from what is common in China and in Europe. So kind of like wall plugs. Anyways, I used a NACS adapter to test this charger and it works great. It just does its job and gave me no drama. What I particularly like is that there is no phone app or log in or anything. Just pure beautiful function. The build of this thing is solid. Real solid. The control unit is like a brick. The cables are thick and covered by some burly insulation. It's a little surprising that such rugged cables are as flexible as these. So, yeah, I'm happy with the build. Confession time - I use a lot of Dewalt tools and I ordered this charger because I figured it would have similar quality. It does. I like it.
