  • Works fine... once you get it working fine.
Capacity: 1TB Style: Standard Packaging
So, I purchased this SSD to proactively replace a 12 year drive that was fine in a Windows8.1 machine. I tried to clone the drive with the recommended/provided Acronis SW / instructions and it would NOT clone the C partition. Not good. The SW just hangs and is sending something to the drive (light flashing on the interface cable) but nothing happening. (No drive activity (reads or writes) on the drive it was supposed to be copying... and it said it would be done in about 3 days+...for about 300GB. Obviously something wrong.) Downloaded Macrium Reflect cloning SW (FREE) and it cloned the disc fine.... in a reasonable period of time.... but I couldn't boot from it while using the USB cable interface I just cloned it with. Decided to install the drive in the PC to see if it would boot/run as the main C: drive and all worked fine, and has been working fine for days now. Machine is definitely faster... so all good... but it took a few extra undocumented steps to get there. PS: The Crucial SSD Storage Executive SW (you have to download that separately from Crucial, per their instructions (which are available on the Amazon SSD page you selected the drive from) would not run until the clone was complete and the drive was installed in the PC as the primary drive. Prior to that, the SW would say the drive was healthy, but that was about it. So, again, all turned out okay... but it took a few extra steps to get there. Overall... all good... and this read/writes to the SSD are very fast compared to the original disk drive. ... show more

  • Requires Third Party Software
Capacity: 1TB Style: Standard Packaging
I was excited to get this SDD as I expected to revive my laptop. I attached it to the USB cable and went to the site that comes with the software. To my surprise there was nothing there, just information on other products you can buy. I did a google search by brand name and cloning download. A direct webpage appeared. I downloaded and installed it. You Have To Pay Extra The first thing the software does it ask you upgrade for a fee. I declined, then it said I could only use half the drive. I opted to give up half the storage and continued, then it asked I upgrade again. I tried repeatedly and it would not allow me to. I ended going to Macrium. I used the free edition. In about 15 minutes it cloned it. I removed everything that can be reinstalled to speed up the process, so there was about 200GB that needed to be cloned. I then switched the drives and turned the laptop on. Second Disappointment I got a DOS screen saying something about the BIOS. I pressed the TAB key and pressed entered. Then a blank screen. I held my breath. Then the screen came back. Third Disappointment I turned off the laptop and back on. It all seemed great. It was up and running in about 15 seconds, compared to the prior 3 minutes to get it going. After it started I checked and Lenovo bloatware was still sucking up resources as well as a bunch of window updates that go back logged because of the slow drive. I checked the drive and indeed there was only 500G of the 1TB capacity. Last Step The last step was running the windows disc management app. With the disc management up you create a new partition of the unused part of the drive and can finally get the rest of the drive back. It did make the laptop much better and feel I am set for another 2-3 years, but it was not easy. It took a solid 2 hours to get everything resolved. I have previously installed SDD drives on a couple of desktops and those were not issue free either, but were by far smoother. I don't know if I would Crucial or Samsung for the next one, but I am leaning Samsung this experience was negative enough that I am inclined to spend a little more for less inconvenience. ... show more

  • Great 2TB Replacement for XBox One S
Capacity: 2TB Style: Standard Packaging
My son's Xbox was failing. Some Google searches of the error code said the hard drive was failing. Watched some videos on YouTube on how to swap. Bought this because the factory recognized max HD for XBox 1 S is 2TB. Was super easy. Took about 20-30 minutes to take apart, swap, and put back together. Worked perfect after doing software install from USB. Son says game loading is noticeably faster than the old HD. Worth $120. ... show more

  • Nice little SSD
Capacity: 480GB Style: Standard Packaging
This SSD replaced an old 2TB OE 3.5 that was old and noisy on a Dell 3620 WS and it runs very fast and efficient. This SSD does not have DRAM but works very fast for my needs. I combined this SSD with 16GB of ram and the machine is now much faster. Works good with no install issues at all.

  • Great SSD, Great Price!
Capacity: 1TB Style: Standard Packaging
Got this to replace the 1tb conventional drive in my aging HP laptop. It installed easily and runs fast and great! Better yet I got it here on Amazon at a cheaper price than what Crucial had it for on their website. Overall I can't complain!
