I was impressed immediately once I opened the box. The brakes work exceptionally well, I’d say better than the stock rotors by far, they allow smooth but firm braking. Some have mentioned a humming sound when braking from higher speeds. They do hum but it isn’t annoying to me whatsoever, in fact, I actually enjoy it. Sort of reminds me of the sound jets make when applying reverse thrust, it’s a cool sound ( to me). The only negative comment I can make is about the install of the rears but not because of the rotors, it’s where Hyundai decided to place one of the bolts that hold the caliper ( for lack of the proper term) cradle. It’s sits behind the rear suspension arm. YouTube has videos on getting to that bolt by unbolting and dropping that arm. These rotors and brakes really showed their stuff during a recent rain, no loss of braking power thanks I’m sure to the ports and slots. Again, good value and quality for the money. My F-250 is next in line and I’ll for sure be ordering these again for my truck.

TLDR; Save $200, gain better performance with high quality parts that are easy to install and live with a droning sound when breaking. Over all this was a great deal. Quick shipping parts fit flawlessly. They are great quality, The brake pads are good ceramic pads. If your buying this kit I have to assume you are a least slightly mechanically inclined and you can use a socket wrench, a C-clamp, and a screwdriver, which is basically all you need. Did all 4 wheels in under two hours and that included clean up. I will say I hade to take the rear shock off the bottom mount to get to on bolt on my Kia Optima but other then that everything was fairly painless. So for Instillation and parts quality- 5 STARS. Usage- these brakes are great. I can definitely feel a performance increase (i.e. stopping faster). These suckers will stop on a dime. So performance again- 5 STARS. Now, why the 4 star review, well comfort. The only drawback I have seen with these after a month of use is the drone. When you are slowing down from cruising speed there is this load droning noise caused buy what I can only assume to be the slots and holes on the discs. They do what they are designed for, but that drone is sometimes really loud. The first couple times it was cool, sounded like being in a high-end performance car, now its just annoying. YMMV depending on the car, I don't know if it is just a 2014 kia optima thing as road noise is generally pretty load in the car compared to others but just something to consider. For me Comfort and Convivence - 3 STARS All considered, I would definitely buy from Detroit axel again - just maybe go for the solid rotors next time. This quality is great, I bought the entire kit for ~$185 and when priced at local auto stores It was ranging from $350-$425. So I saved $200 dollars and have a little bit of a droning sound with much improved performance- Ill take it!

Had to return them twice and still did not get proper fitment. THESE DO NOT FIT Kia optima SLE do Not order for that fitment. They are excellent looking brakes and are probably great for another car. Just not Optima. They are too deep and rub. The company (Detroit) has been made aware and are making changes. I would contact them directly for proper fitments for your car.

2014 Hyundai Sonata GLS Everything fit as it should. The front pads were a little tight because of rust. The back pads fit good but I did them last so I wire brushed them a little more. Going to pull the fronts back off and wire brush them better as I don’t want them binding up. A lesson learned. I’ll update later and let you know how they hold up. In upstate NY, so they use a lot of salt in the winter.
