I mounted both of my shades on the aluminum supports of my screen Lanai and what I like is that they almost disappear when they are rolled up. Of course they are 10 ft high. Maybe that helps. I have sliders on the eastern side of my house that act as microwaves in the morning. Installing these shades blocked almost zero light (I have interior drapes for that) but reduced indoor temps by over 10 degrees. I highly recommend getting these to keep your house cool. If you need to block light the lighter shades aren’t for you, but these worked perfectly for me and were so affordable! This shade worked immediately to cool my south-facing sunroom. It was easy to install including changing the brake side for a top mount vs side mount. My only disappointment is the shipping. The roller shade was not packaged in a shipping box but came only in the plastic display box. One end of the plastic was split open from damage. The shade was not damaged so I kept it.
