  • Great tool set, highly recommend!!
Style: New 262 Piece Set
This tool set has everything I need for basic projects around the house. The tools are sturdy, well-made, and organized nicely in the case. Great quality for the price — definitely recommend for home use or as a starter set!

  • Can't Beat the Price or Warranty
Style: New 230 Piece Set
This a great set, especially for the price. I got the 230 piece for half price. The case fits easily with the other Craftsman Verastack containers. The ratchets are slimmer as described and feel good in the hand. However, what is an already good set could be better. First, the drawers slide but are not on rollers like other Verastack containers. Rollers would be nice. Second, the drawers are not interchangeable, meaning you cannot rearrange them top to bottom. I would prefer to put the 3/8 on top since I use that size the most. Third, the casing is OK, but it would have been nice if they figured out a way for you to maximize the space. The drawers use built in plastic pegs, etc. and there is a ton of dead space between everything. I would prefer this to have been made so we can rearrange the tools in the drawers to maximize the space--perhaps removable foam. Finally, the regular wrenches are not very good. They are smooth and look nice, but they suffer from a massive crab claw on the open end and the box end is bigger when compared to old-school USA-made 12 pt raised panel wrenches and even the relatively newer China-made 6 pt raised panel wrenches. I have uploaded a photo so you can see. In both photos, the wrench from this set is on the left, the Chinese made 6 pt raised panel wrench is in the center, and the O.G. USA-made raised panel wrench is on the right. That said, this was a a very good deal for the price. If you are looking for non-professional use tools or are a professional on a budget, these are a good buy. I have been working on cars for 30 years--including major repairs--and have used nothing but budget brands and unbranded stuff. Craftsman are literally some of the "nicest" tools I own, and guess what, the cars get fixed just the same but for A LOT less money in tools. Also, you also cannot beat the Craftsman warranty. I have literally taken cracked 50-year old Craftsman sockets to Ace and Lowes and got a replacement with no questions asked just the way Sears once did it. ... show more

  • BEST VALUE TOOL KIT FOR A-SCHOOL
Style: New 230 Piece Set
First off, if you want legitimate Made in USA tools by Craftsman, hit up your local flea market (swap meet) or online used tools marketplaces (CL, FB Marketplace, etc.). This is NOT the original USA brand and like a lot of the name brands of yesteryear, these are made 'off shore'. But no worries. These are as good as any of the other foreign tools and when a bunch of military graduates had to get a 'starter' tool set to get through A-School, this kit won hands down. Why? Great assortment of SAE and SI (metric). Great packaging. Great quality. Price? SUPERB! A whole bunch of Coasties, Marines, and Soldiers immediately ordered this kit for under $100. No, really. Less than a hundred bucks and to date, of 60 kits purchased not a single tool has broken under almost daily use! Again, daily USE, not abuse. Could these men and women gone into debt buying 'buy once cry once' top name (S**p-O*)? Sure but at this stage of their careers, they need to learn the trades, keep their money (Uncle Sam deducts $350/month for food you know), and take care of families. Once again, Amazon sales keep our heroes and heroines in the game. Thank you Amazon and thank you Craftsman. ... show more

  • Nicely organized tool set with good tools that are comfortable in hand.
Style: New 230 Piece Set
I got this tool set for my attached garage workbench so that I would have a nice socket set in a small, organized location to keep clutter at bay. The tools are very nice and work well--my first tool set was a craftsman set that has served me well over the years. It's permanent home is on a small workbench in my garage so I can't say much as to weight, since it won't be carried around except in emergencies but it does lock, which I don't need. Tools feel good in the hand and generally seem to be of similar durability as my old craftsman tools. Really like the organized case alot. ... show more

  • Perfect tool kit for cars
Style: New 230 Piece Set
As a longtime car enthusiast with a garage full of scattered tools from years of projects, this Craftsman kit is exactly what I needed. I didn’t want to pull apart my main toolbox every time I hit the road, and this set is perfect to toss in the trunk of any classic car for peace of mind. It has everything I would need for American, Euro and Japanese cars. It covers pretty much everything you’d need for roadside repairs, with just enough extra space to add your own essentials like electrical tape or vice grips. The tools themselves feel solid, well-made, and comfortable in hand. A great value and a smart addition to any car lover’s collection as either a starting point or a well-organized kit to keep in the trunk. ... show more

  • Really nice set. Super organized.
Style: New 230 Piece Set
Really nice set. Super organized trays. I do wish it had more storage for loose tools. So the tool set is good and non of the items have broken on me (yet). The case so far could use a better design. But it's super convenient to just leave on the shelf and slide out the drawers to access the tools. Just needs loose tool space. I think they could have made the drawers slightly less deep and added an empty 'junk drawer' in the unit. That's the only reason it's not a 5 star. ... show more
