I needed something to serve as a duckling brooder after another option failed. This product had all the features I needed so I took the chance despite other reviews. First, it was very easy to put together. Took me about 45 minutes with a standard screwdriver. The pieces are labeled and the directions are decent. It's easy to clean & move. Convenient access for changing food & bedding. Prospective buyers should know a few things: -This cage is absolutely not waterproof. It is not appropriate for ground contact and will not protect your animal from rain. If you decide to attempt this you'll need to seal the wood and use tarp or pressure treated lumber underneath. I have it under cover on concrete so this wasn't a concern for me. -I can't speak for mammals but it's perfect to brood up to (6) chicks or ducklings for the first 4-6 weeks of their lives, but that's it. It's not tall enough for mature chickens or ducks. -A heat plate is fine, but this does not appear safe to use with a heat lamp. The metal bars can melt.

The media could not be loaded. I did a little customization by painting a little desert mural on the back panel before I put it together. In his previous enclosure which was glass, I had put a painting behind it, and I had started to notice he’d come out just to look at it! So I had to paint him his own scene when I got this :) It took a bit of time to put it together but it really wasn’t bad, and the directions were pretty good. I didn’t have a power drill so I did it all by hand and it still wasn’t bad. It’s very sturdy when all together and looks so nice! Even my little grump of a tortoise is very happy with it. In the big open part I put down some self-adhesive pieces of tan felt to give him some grip but also to be soft. And in the fully enclosed part I put a good inch and a half of playsand, then a couple inches of coconut bedding and topped it off with a layer of cypress mulch. He loves digging and burrowing down into that. Tortoises should have their basking spot to be around 100 degrees F and between 70-80 degrees F on the cool side. This enclosure is big enough for him to thermal regulate properly! The basking spot is right at 100 degrees, the middle is 80 and the opposite side is just over 70. I was worried it was going to be too small but it’s actually perfect! I highly recommend this if you need a nice, sturdy, good-looking small enclosure.

I had to put the floor on before I finished putting the sides together bc it wouldn't fit. The instructions were vague, but helpful enough that I got it put together in about 2.5 hours. Must have a drill to put it together came with extra screws. The wood will crack if you're not careful, but I needed something for Yumi that didn't flood like her plastic cage bc she doesn't know how to drink water I've tried several different bottles so I gave up and got her a different cage. Yumi approved!

The perfect bunny house! I love the separate spaces- she can retreat to the enclosed space or be out in the open. It’s easy to pull back the top to clean. Easy to put together and well made. It fits our space perfectly and the bunny seems to really enjoy it.

It wasn't super hard to put together, but the screw holes are not present, so it is a pain in da booty that way. The wood is cheap, but it does the trick for my desert tort hibernation. I set it up on my covered patio with bricks underneath to protect from water because I am sure water would destroyit. I have a huge area for him for the rest of the year, but he was malnourished when I got him so I want to not let him burrow too deep.The worst thing for me is the chemical smell. It has been sitting on my patio for two days and it still has fumes. I have not been able to use it yet. If the smell doesn't dissipate soon, I will return it. .

We use this for his outdoor habitat in the spring and summer months. It's held up well under the intense TX summer heat and the multiple heavy rain storms. I would highly recommend weatherproofing it if you plan to leave it outdoors. I have moved it several times without any issues to the frame but you have to do this carefully. The only con I have found is the bottom board that goes into the closed section has become easily warped with rain which is natural I suppose. On a good note, it can be easily replaced with another small piece of board.

I have purchased two of the smaller size and they were much easier to put together than this bigger one. The parts didn’t line up well, there were gaps, and the directions were very unclear. The side panels of the coop are supposed to face a specific way otherwise it won’t line up at all but that’s not mentioned in the instructions at all. One of my floor parts was also damaged. After purchasing the two smaller ones I was very disappointed in this bigger one.

Was not difficult to put together as long as you pay attention to the instructions. I had to redo a couple of parts but that's my fault. Once put together it's aesthetically appealing and the tortoise loves being able to stay outside for several hours. So far the escape artist has not made it out
