I got this countertop ice machine for some outdoor entertaining, and for in the garage. I spend a lot of time in my garage and always have to come back in the house to refresh my beverage. Having cold drinks in my minifridge and and ice machine makes it so much easier. And, I don't dirty up the house as much, trapsing in and out. Here are my observations about this machine: It works by chilling the stainless steel 'tray' and running water over it. As the water gets colder it freezes in the tray. After the tray reaches a cold enough temperature, that signals the machine that the trays is full of ice. The system pauses and the ice drops into the bin. The next cycle begins. 1. I really like the way it is designed. I understand the tech inside it and am very impressed with how well it works. It is so capable, yet so compact. The fit and finish of all the components equals that of commercial machines. Very well made. 2. I like how quickly it produces ice. After I filled the tank with room temperature water, it was about 20 minutes until it dumped the first 'tray' of cubes. That load was not as well formed as the subsequent loads. But, it was good enough to ice down four tall glasses of tea. Then, it continued to pump out a new 'tray' about every 15 minutes. Each tray being better than the last. About half way through that first gallon of water, it was chilled enough that the cubes were completely formed and crystal clear. 3. I like the quantity of ice that one tank of water will produce. As you can see in one of my pictures, I have two 1 gallon storage bags full of ice, all from one tank. 4. I like the convenience. Not just about having an ice machine where I want it. But, also for the filling options. You can either fill the tank manually, and / or place up to a 2.5 gallon water jug on top for continuous operation. (The instructions really didn't go into the jug option. But, all you do is leave the black jug adapter plate in place. You have to lift it off, to manually fill the tank.) There is a trip plate in the ice collection bin that will stop operation, once the bin is full. I really look forward to the warmer months, when I can be outside more, in the garage more and have cold, iced beverages on hand, thanks to this Silonn countertop ice machine.

I LOVE this ice maker and only wish I purchased it earlier. It works as stated. I do find it funny that the smaller cubes seem to hold up better than the larger ones. I have been using for a while and no issues. I leave it on 90% of the time; ice even keeps overnight. Cleaning feature works well.

Bought this machine to replace our old bullet ice maker. We've had it about a month, and we love it! Always plenty of ice, runs nice and quiet. Would definitely recommend!

When the ice maker in the fridge died for the third time I figured this might be a good alternative. It’s been surprisingly good. It makes lots of ice and keeps up with our family’s needs. The only downside is that after about eight months the production started to slow down. After a little research I removed the cover and gently brushed the dust from the coils. The whole process took about 10 minutes and afterwards it operated like new. Not really a downer but you do have to be pretty diligent about cleaning so that mold & bacteria doesn't build up. The process is pretty easy and only takes a few minutes. We’ve been cleaning ours every couple of weeks. It takes about the same space on the counter as a toaster. It’s already lasted longer than any of the refrigerator’s three ice makers and we like the ice better. All in all we’re very happy with this product

Update 9/21/2022: Silonn never returned any of my emails or contacted me back. Don't buy this one. I lost the price of this item and because we really loved having an icemaker, now I have to purchase another one. I'm not happy. UPDATE: 08/14/2022: My beloved icemaker is now emitting an oily yellow chemical into the water retaining basin. As you can imagine, I won't be using this icemaker again! Naturally, it happens when I'm just past my Amazon return window so I've contacted the manufacturer, Silonn for assistance with getting a replacement. I will update my review according to their response. I do hope it was just a defective item and they will send me a new one. I miss it already! I'm taking one star off for now but if they replace it promptly and the new one works I'll add back the star! I've been looking at these for a while now since my new fridge didn't have an ice maker and I thought I could just use ice trays. TBH the ice trays just weren't for me. I work 3 jobs and I just don't have a lot of time to mess around with ice trays. I understand if you think that's stupid and if ice trays work for you, more power to you but they just didn't work for me. So, anyway, I've been looking at these countertop ice makers but they are so pricey and I just couldn't bring myself to hit "place order" on any of them. But I was going to have guests over for dinner and I wanted to have ice so I finally bought this one after researching about 50 of them. I LOVE it. I use it every single day and so does my daughter. I love having easy, quick access to ice without having to mess with ice trays. This machine is easy to refill, easy to clean and easy to operate. I've only used the small ice cubes and they are plenty large enough for me. It makes ice fast. It is a bit noisy but my kitchen is one of those kinda long ones so I just put it on the counter farthest from the living area and I really only hear it when I'm in the kitchen cooking and making noise anyway. If your kitchen is right near your living or sleeping areas it might be a problem for you but it's fine for me. I love it so much that I'm really kicking myself for not buying it sooner. If you are teetering on the edge of deciding to buy one and you see this review, buy it! It is worth every penny.
