It's easy enough to install? Just make sure you don't install it on the wrong end of the door like I did. Also, be careful screwing it in.     • Not great for hollow core doors.

Difficult to install on hollow core doors. This cat door is designed to wrap around the bottom of your door as well as inside the opening. With a solid core door, you can fasten each side separately with the provided screws. With a hollow core door however, it is held together with small plastic rods that insert in each side. These aren't very snug on their own and are exceptionally difficult to get lined up correctly, so getting the cat door to stay in place was almost impossible. I ended up having to get some machine screws and nuts to get it to stay in place. It would've been better if this was included so that installation was smoother, more secure, and the hole plugs that were already provided could be used. Other than that, it's cute and does the job to make the hole in your door look better. ... show more

Great product. Installation was challenging as the door arrived with the template missing. I traced the inside of the door and cut a bit larger, but it took extra cutting and sanding down areas to get the correct fit. I think Installation would have been very easy if the template had not been missing. My mom came to visit and brought my dad's saw with her. We made the Installation process a mother/daughter event and had a great time. The door says it fits cats up to 30 lbs. Mine is very fluffy, but she is only 14 lbs and has to duck down. She fits through just fine, and she is a larger breed (16 in from base of neck to base of tail), but I wish the door opening was a bit taller for larger breed cats. She is still not quite sure about it, but we will give it time. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I love this for my cats, I can now shut the door and they can come and go. The dogs can't get it and eat the food or get in the litter box.
