  • Great Cage for Kittens
I purchased 3 of these and donated them to 2 different rescues in need. They love them. The cleaning is easy as the tray comes out and the wheels are a big hit to move it from one area to another.

  • Cheap paint job, ok quality
This will do the job, but the paint is already chipping in several places and a piece popped off during assembly. I wasn’t rough. I’m hoping this will make it through a baby Maine Coon and some foster kittens. If I had a do-over I’d just buy an extra large, good-quality cage and sew some hammocks for inside. I am not impressed with the quality of this cage. ... show more

  • Ferret cage
This is a pretty good ferret cage with mods, and got it on sale for $90!! I zip tied 2 of the 3 small platforms together to make it wider (this makes it less of a fall risk) and bought a 2 pack of cooling racks (that you would use for baking) and zip tied them together to make another level and then zip tied it to the cage. I cut out cardboard pieces big enough to cover the platforms out of the box the Cage was shipped in, and bought fleece and sewn sleeves for the cardboard pieces to fit in. I kept one of the sides open so that way I can replace the cardboard and wash the fleece if he ever had an accident outside of the litter box. Overall it’s a pretty sturdy cage and my little guy is liking it!! ... show more

  • Might not be suitable for wild/high energy kittens
The instructions were as clear as mud. Someone who isn't good at flatpack furniture might struggle putting this together. Fortunately i used to earn extra money by putting flatpacks together! The cage itself seems pretty sturdy but the shelving and ladders inside don't seem kitten proof at all. And the bed and hammock that are included were not designed with cat safty in mind at all. Strings? Really? Even my adult cats try to eat paracord from time to time. Using nylon cordage is like giving a kid a lighter. They're going to use it and kittens are going to play, chew and utterly destroy those cords in under a week. I'm having my husband replace them with heavy duty straps asap. I may have to make other adjustments to assure that the wilder kittens don't hurt themselves bouncing around in there. But I still think this is an excellent buy! The slide out tray alone is worth every penny I spent on this. If you're new to fostering kittens and have some cash to spare, get this cage. Even very well behaved kittens make terrible messes! UPDATE: I liked the first cage so much I bought a second one. I detached the back of both cages and ziptied the two together to make a 31.5 x 44 inch crate. I also used the landings from both to build a bit of a cat highway inside. As I said in my first review, not the most kitten friendly designs. I had 4 8week olds that managed to knock all the shelving down in the first cage within an hour of putting them in. But I ziptied them down and they held up just fine after that. The strings [while I still had them on the bed and hammock] actually held up VERY nicely despite teething kittens. I still replaced them though just to be safe. I LOVE THIS CRATE! ... show more

  • Barely big enough for a 10 lb female cat
It does the job keeping her inside and safe from a (hopefully )temporary situation. but it's tight for a cat of average size. She refuses to walk on the ladders and jumps instead. The covered litterbox gives her somewhere else to sit if she chooses. Besides she will jump into the litter box from above if the cover isn't on. It's a softer landing. I put cardboard on each level for comfort, and a plush cover over a plush pet heating pad for the top bed level. At first she complained about being in there but eventually she accepted it. Later when she didn't need to stay we have kept this set up with the doors open. She goes in on her own to cat nap on the heated bed daily, and the litter box is still in there which she uses too. So I know she likes it. ... show more

  • JUST WHAT I WANTED
My wife and I foster kittens for our local animal shelter. For 5 years we've been containing the fosters in our guest shower stall. And that works really well as everything they need fits just fine. But I thought it would be nice to get the bathroom back and give the kittens a place of their own to sleep and play. There are so many options for cat cages and we finally selected this one. We felt it was a good buy for our purpose and the cost. It arrived yesterday and I had it assembled in about 35 minutes. It's great having the wheels so we can easily move it around the house. I thought the two kittens we're currently fostering would have to have some time to adapt to their new surroundings but they've done great. The hammock that I thought would be a waste of space is actually the favorite spot for one kitten. A water bowl and food bowl are attached to the wiring (bought separately); a dish pan serves as a litter box and a sheepskin rug is an extra bed on the ground floor. Its the bed they've been sleeping on already. The ladders are great and I added carpet to them so using them would be easy on tiny paws. I need to order another hammock because they can't both fit in one and its a popular item. The size of this cage would easily accommodate six or 8 kittens; I'd put only two adult cats in this unit. We and the kittens are very pleased with this purchase. Once again, thanks Amazon. Highly recommended. ... show more
