  • Great For The Price
I’ve been using a Canon monochrome printer on one of my computers for years; with zero issues. So I thought this printer would be a good choice to replace my old HP inkjet. Setting this up was extremely easy for the most part. The worst part was entering my wifi password. The experience was similar to texting on a 1990’s flip phone. Other than that, everything went smoothly. Print quality is good. The noise level is not excessively high. It is a fairly heavy unit, so a well built stand should be used. The documentation that comes with it is not very detailed, so expect to go online for some of the setup info. ... show more

  • Affordable printer
Affordable color, laser duplex printer. Easy to set up. Printer takes up a little more space than I expected, should've paid better attention to dimensions. Able to print wirelessly from all my Apple products at home

  • Good value - but chromebook/chrome OS users be aware
We had suffered with an early Brother color laser printer with "wireless" connectivity but just suffered from constant disconnects and sleep mode the printer would not wake from. Grabbed this during Prime Days and after a couple weeks just incredibly impressed. Wireless connection super easy on all of our Windows PCs/Laptops, and Canon Print app on Android works great from those devices. Quality is good as well. But the big issue (and why I docked this a full star) is the mark indicating Chromebook compatibility is inaccurate. We have a couple chromebooks as well that will not connect natively. There apparently are certain Canon models listed on their website that are chromebook compatible and apparently this is not one of them. Thankfully there is a work-around using the ezeep cloud printing chrome extension, but that's more than basic setup. So be aware of this if chromebook compatibility is an issue. You will need more than beginner skills to make this printer work with chrome OS. ... show more

  • Fast, value, quick setup, print quality, and double sided
Printing with Ubuntu (Linux), installed nothing, just took it out of the box, took the tape off, entered my Internet KEY, put in some paper, and ready to go. Printing in color, printing both sides of the paper, printing from my Android phone without adding any software. Quality is awesome in BW or color. Finally a printer that doesn't waste all your time trying to make it work. Very impressive. Toner cartridges can print 3000 pages, which for me will be a couple years. I love this machine!. To get from wait state to 1st page is about 15 secs, then cranks out pages 22/min. I can't believe what this cost!! $300. I've only had it 2 days, but I anticipate no probs. ... show more

  • print quality is great, user experience not so much
You would think that in 2024 getting a network-attached printer to print from a modern OS like Windows 11 would be trivial right? Unfortunately that's not the case. First problem: This printer refuses to work with my wireless network. I have a Wifi 6 mesh system in my house and this printer sits less than 4 feet away from the main unit. It can detect the wifi network with no issues, but rejects my password EVERY SINGLE TIME. I've even tried changing the network password to 1234 to make mistyping it literally *impossible* but each time the printer will tell me that the wifi password is not correct (spoiler alert: it is not). This is the ONLY network device I have bought in the past 10+ years that I've had trouble getting to connect to wifi, and it's supposed to be easier than ever these days. Okay fine- I'll connect it wired- like I said, the device is 5 feet away from the router so I'll just plug it in. Network detected, great! Now I'll just set up an IP reservation for this device so it always has the same local IP address.. nope, my router doesn't see it. Like it literally _does not show up_ in the list of clients, even though the printer says it's connected. So even though it's 2024 and I've bought a _wireless_ printer, I'm stuck with a ridiculously long USB cord and using windows printer sharing so everybody on my network can print. Absolute disappointment. ... show more

  • SO MANY PAGES PER INK CARTRIDGE!
This printer was such a great find! We’ve been wanting to upgrade our printer to a color capable one for a while now and this was perfect!! The ink capacity is what sold us. It’s super easy to hook up to the network with an QR code for instructions and prints great!

  • Great printer
I bought this to use as a stand alone for my office. I connect it with a printer cable when I want to use and it works great. I did not sign up for auto delivery cartridges or WiFi printing. It was easy to set up and use. I have it on my desk as it fits in the space. It’s not tiny but it is not super heavy or clunky like some printers. I got this on sale so great value! Came in a large box with extra packing material. ... show more

  • Good price/adequate/works as it should but interface is clunky and unit is LOUD
The printer is fine. Canon isn't known for ease of use in their printers. The print experience is fine. For a no nonsense business printer if you just print occassionally it's fine once you get it all set up. HOWEVER, you won't be able to print if you're trying to be quiet. This thing is LOUD when it's running. A lot of clunky mechanical noises. Also the LCD is super low quality - it's like an 80s calculator. It also took me like 5 tries to get it to connect to my home network. It's also large and kinda heavy - well larger than other units in it's category... It won't be easy to hide or tuck under a desk. So for the price - I think it's just fine. But I wouldn't be shouting from the mountain tops about it. It's "good enough for government" as they say. It's a solid 3.5 stars.. ... show more
