I got these Hydros from Merrell through Amazon. Because the color and size I wanted wasn't available in a "Men's" size, I ordered what I figured would work in "Women's" sizing. I wear American size 9, Euro size 42. Hearing that these run large, I ordered a Women's 10 which is about a Euro size 40.5. These arrived and were listed as a Men's size 8.5, Women's 10. They fit perfectly. So yes, they do run large by almost a full size. They are very comfortable, almost feeling like slippers, but with arch support. I absolutely love how comfortable these are compared to Crocs! My arches are so happy now! I honestly like the way they look better, too. The only drawback is that they don’t slip on & off quite as easily or quickly as Crocs. But other than when I have to start swapping my shoes off & on again to take dogs out in snow season, these are gonna be great! I should mention however, that this might not be the most ideal for folks who are very physically-challenged with dexterity to work them onto their feet or removing them. Although I have given the shoes 5 stars, if I could rate the site where I purchased them I would give them one star. I was trying to order womens' water shoes. Found this one. Selected a color and my usual size, 9. When I added it to the cart it became a Men's shoe! I tried several times to do it over and get it to say womens to no avail. So then I decided to order it one size smaller, an 8, since I believe men's sizes are generally one size larger than womens. I did post questions about this and two nice customers tried to answer me but it didn't solve the problem as I had no idea if I was getting a woman's or a man's sized shoes. The seller actually answered me as well and was equally useless since he referred to the shoes being one and a half sizes different (mens vs. womens), when the shoes don't come in half sizes, and suggested I order a half size in the unisex shoes. I still don't know if these are unisex, mens, womens, or horse shoes! That said, I took a chance, ordered the 8s and they arrived yesterday. They fit me perfectly! So the shoes are cute, fit great, are comfortable, and should suit my purpose. They are for 2 vacations coming up where I will be on and off boats, and in and out of water. I feel these will be comfortable, sturdy, and waterproof! I recommend the shoes if you can figure out your size! - THIS IS AN EDITED REVIEW BUT I'M NOT SURE IF THIS IS HOW AND WHERE TO DO THIS. I HAVE NOW WORN THESE SHOES SEVERAL TIMES AND EVERY TIME I WEAR THEM BAREFOOT I GET BLISTERS ON THE TOP OF MY TOES. I CAN ONLY WEAR THEM WITH SOCKS WHICH IS AN UNDESIRABLE REQUIREMENT. These are awesome!!!! I bought these to wear around the house and to use them for my softball games relief shoes...not to actually play lol....they are way more comfortable than crocs...I have issues with my heels and these give so much relief and they are super cool....many people do say they are big and fit wide but I have wide feet so it work out perfect. I am normally a 9.5 and the 9s fit absolutely perfect so do be aware of the side. I plan on purchasing more in other colors...already told my kids and husband I expect some pairs for mothers day...these are a must. ... show more

    • Beware:Don't take the term water shoe literally

These shoes were classified as water shoes and that's what I searched when I bought them. These shoes are absolutely not to be used for swimming. they are good for being around water or walking through shallow water or marshy areas. The bottoms offer protection against Sharp objects and hard rocks. However I was actually disappointed because the holes are so big that small rocks and shells easily flow into them with the water which can be very uncomfortable and I constantly had to take them off and empty them out. I have somewhat narrow feet and found them to be way too wide. You can't swim in them because the water catches and pulls back on your feet like a parachute this is especially true for me and I almost drowned because of it when water conditions changed suddenly. The shoes themselves have good quality but again beware of swimming in them. ... show more
