I'm very happy with these pans. We already own a small hard anodized pot from Calphalon. We've owned it for years and it's one of our most frequently used pots, but the dark anodizing on the inside has come off in parts of the inside, because it's used so often, and some family members have used metal utensils on it. So, for now these new pans are off-limits to all but the adult members who know not to use metal utensils on it, and who know not to stack other pots/pans inside of it, scratching its interior surface. Also, after using the pans let them cool down before adding water to them or washing them. If you add water to the pans while they're still hot, the quick change in temperature can cause the metal to permanently warp, so the bottom of the pan will no longer be flat (so eggs and liquids run to the edges instead of staying in the middle). So far I've made several batches of bacon, eggs (fried & scrambled), and grilled cheese sandwiches on these pans. They're relatively light weight and heat up quickly and evenly. I really like the handles; they're really comfortable to hold. I do wish that they came with lids, like my earlier Calphalon purchases did. Fortunately, I already have a lid that fits the 10" pan, but I'm going to need to buy one for the 8". It's a great price for two pans, but I think a more useful set would have been a 10" and a 12" pan. ... show more

Used several times now and have cooked nice and even for things like grilled cheese. Have held up well through the dishwasher, as they still look new. One negative is the handle gets a bit hot when using with my gas stove, not sure if would be better with other heat sources.

I am admittedly biased on this one. I love Calphalon pans. To me, they are the best bang-for-the-buck on the market. Remember when Bed Bath and Beyond used to sell a 10" and 12" Calphalon set for $50? I used many extra 20% off coupons on extra sets. I literally still have two new sets in my basement. The teflon wears out eventually, but for a few years they are a fantastic cooking experience. The ergonomics are my favorite all-time, especially if you pan-flip by hand. We have since converted to cast iron, but I'm still glad to have them on hand for the future. And I couldn't resist trying these new aluminum pans. Initial quality is excellent. At first I was shocked at how light weight they are. Feather light compared to their steel pans. Ergonomics are very good. Cooking experience is very good. My only concern is the "non-stick technology" word-smithing. I never jumped on the anti-teflon bandwagon, but it still seems a bit shady. A ten year warranty? Insane. Dishwasher safe? Insane. They won't replace my cast iron and carbon steel pans, but the convenience alone is worth the price of admission. ... show more

I had seen the name Calphalon before but figured one pan was the same as the next but I was seriously incorrect. I have been using these pans for several weeks now and they are better, by far, than any other pans I have except one that my parents gave me. I have real problems with food sticking, uneven cooking where parts of the pan get hotter than others and slow heating. These pans are absolutely non-stick. Everything slides right off the pan when finished. They heat evenly and they seem to heat up very rapidly. I am now using these two pans exclusively except when I need to make a sauce or want to stir fry. Then I use the flat bottomed Wok that my parents gave me and I have used for almost all stove top cooking since I got it. I noticed that the handles were the same as these skillets and sure enough, that flat bottomed pan is also a Calphalon. Best cookware I have used in my 60+ years of life and the only brand I will go with from now on. I highly recommend these pans. ... show more

I have been buying Calphalon for decades. I love these pans! The non-stick surface is incredibly effective, allowing me to cook with minimal oil and making cleanup a breeze. The pans provide even heat distribution; food cooks uniformly without hot spots, which is great. I would not recommend these to anyone who struggles to lift objects. I'm always a big fan of calphalon products, so of course these were a no brainer for me. I really like calphalon and their non stick pans and so grabbing these were a great idea. I have made eggs and all kinds of other things with these and the non stick works great. Even my wife, who gets 90% of the eggs stuck to even regular non stick pans somehow didn't have that problem with these pans. Just really solid at heat retention and non stick working. These are great nonstick pans, and good sizes for 2-person meals. I was really happy that they can go into the dishwasher (all my other pans are hand-wash only). I was a little disappointed that the long handles get too hot to hold even when cooking on the stovetop; and a pad is necessary to pickup the pan. (The packaging instructions say: "use oven mitt when removing pans from the oven".) That is only reason they are a 4 stars not 5 stars rating. ... show more
