This is much more beautiful and better quality than my Elgin clock. The pendulum has a much smoother movement. The over all construction of the clock seems more substantial. I expected that it would have a chime to announce the hour like my Elgin. I assumed that all anniversary clocks did. However I was very impressed by how elegant it looks. I guess when I read Polished Brass Finish, I thought the clock was metal. I'm not super surprised that it is plastic, considering it was made in China. It fits where I want it on the mantle and is easy to read. Would I order it again, No.

I bought this clock as a gift for my brother's 50th wedding anniversary. I remember seeing a clock like this in my grandparent's living room and always thought it was a very elegant clock. My brother and sister-in-law really enjoyed receiving this clock.

It seems basic to put together I would have appreciated “photos” of putting it together instead of just written. The pendulum is loose and there is a “grinding” sound coming from the clock. have to return because of the grinding noise and loose pendulum.
