  • As someone with narcolepsy this has been tremendously helpful.
I bought this years ago as a desperate college student with difficulty waking up due to narcolepsy. It works as advertised and has been extremely helpful. I find the battery life is a lot shorter now (years after first purchasing) but still lasts a few days. Its not uncomfortable to wear and can be situated on either side of your wrist. The counting feature for jumping jacks is not very accurate, but if you set the amount you have to do low then you end up doing a reasonable amount. I recently had an issue getting it to connect (again mine in years old now) and the customer service was extremely helpful through the app and helped troubleshoot the issue. Needless to say if and when mine breaks I'm immediately ordering another. This is a genius product that has genuinely improved my quality of life. If you are on the fence- get it, it’s worth it. ... show more

  • Definitely works!
This is absolutely awesome! You can adjust the shock intensity, vibration and sound intensity. I personally tested every level up to 100. It almost feels like something bites you and it stings but your still okay. I keep my vibration at 50 and my shock intensity at 75%. You get a beep sound then you have to grab your phone and do whatever option you chose, whether it be a puzzle, scanning a QR code or jumping Jack's. I keep mine on puzzle lock and it will get your mind focused to figure the puzzle out or you get shocked again lol oh and I just realized today it also comes with a strapless lock, thats what the little purple thing is. I also ordered a magnetic silicone watch band from Pavlok so I can adjust it faster and more comfortable when sleeping. Now the app itself is great but the watch does unfair constantly, so right at bedtime I always open the app and make sure its paired and leave the app open and then just lock my phone, and it stays paired this way throughout the night. Overall this has been great and its waking me up on time and I can see overtime eventually im gonna wake up before it shocks me so I can avoid being shocked. This is 100% worth it, I have tried all kinds of methods from vibration bands, those loud shaking alarm clocks, but many other things and I always either sleep through it or just shut it off. And I may need to go back to the original band as that one is harder to take off when half asleep lol ... show more

  • Did not meet expectations of the soul propose of the devices intentions
Here is my genuine review on the Pavlok 3 I thought the concept was amazing I am an extremly heavy 12 alarm snooze till it’s to late to make it on time to work I have to say I have given it one star for one specific reason waking my heavy sleepiness up I tested it with the alarms all my kids wanted to test the electric impulse it is very subtle and not painful at all it gives a nice stimulation set the alarm on the app 10 times worked those ten times wore it through out the day even stayed up late to sleep deprived me cause I tend to get 4 hours of sleep for my 3am 12 hours days I went to bed at 2 am set the one and only alarm at 6 am set up everything to prevent me to not stay sleeping and put the electrical input to 35% witch was more than noticeable and set the alarm to also make me do a brain puzzle to shut it off and increasing shocks to the longer its alarm went off everything was perfect up until I woke up at 836am with the watch not pairing correctly to the app and thus making me wake up late and it got a one start for its main purpose of waking me and it didn’t hold to the expectations and I should have know cause I checked the app a few times and it wasn’t registering the watch even though it was paired with my phone so if this was a normal work day I would have woken up severly late possibly gotten fired or written up I don’t recommend this device due to the unloyalty of the app and watch not working correctly and for the price it is not worth it to me and pavlok you have my info you can contact me to hear why I am upset hope this helps everyone else looking at this ... show more

  • EXACTLY what I needed
I have like 5 alarms (in addition to this watch), and was still somehow sleeping through them (?) It is soooo much harder to sleep through this “shock watch” (the sound could be louder, but not really why I bought It). If you’ve ever used a TENS unit, the “shocks” are very similar to that (minus the stickers and wires). I included a photo of the inside of the watch that shocks / vibrates. If you have issues getting up to standard alarms, I highly Recommend. It’s a bit of an investment (but cheaper than losing your job from oversleeping). I also LOVE the app. (I haven’t had to pay for it or subscribe - if you want the community aspect and challenges there may be a fee, but I’m able to access the alarms and wake up features I need). Last 2 photos are one of my alarms. You can set it to make you scan a QR code (you’ll have to print it out and put it somewhere), do jumping jacks, or do a puzzle on the app. I’ve only used the puzzle, but it has a few different types of puzzles it randomizes (they help wake your brain up a little bit). Next 2 options are preventing you from snoozing, or you have it zap you again when you snooze. Light sleep tries to wake you up during a lighter sleep cycle. Escalating alarm helps with battery life and incremental gets louder or increases the zap ⚡️until you wake up. Smart alarm makes sure you didn’t fall back asleep by checking to see if you’re moving; if you don’t move within 5 minutes the alarm goes off again. All are optional (& free / with the cost of the watch). You can also set the amounts of the volume, zap level, and vibration levels from 0-100%. I usually use between 70-80% (with the escalating alarm). The shock watch also has an option for bad habits (like skin picking/smoking). You can set it to shock, beep, or vibrate if you raise your hand up (near your head). That’s also optional, it works okay (not really what I bought It for) but I’d like to see an option to maybe “train” it to alert you in a certain position or a certain amount of time maybe. Overall, I love It; I am Still employed. I love the purple color, and the shock part definitely works. I did want to point out that my wrists are TINY (~6 inches); the smallest notch is slightly tight, but I usually use the 2nd smallest, so may not work as well if you have child-sized wrists like me lol but all in all 10/5 ⭐️ ... show more

  • Watch is great, app needs work.
Update: Dropping this down to two stars. Reason one: App has gotten worse. It now freezes every morning when the watch alarm goes off. I use the app to silence the alarm, as I disabled "snooze" on the watch because that sabotages me. The app freezes, and the watch won't stop shocking me and vibrating, so I just have to take it off and bury it under a pile of clothes (it vibrates VERY loudly). The app side of this system is just abysmal - unclear options, poor controls, and lots of freezing and issues. Very disappointed in the poor execution of a great idea. The watch works very well and gets me up without bothering my wife. 100% what I was looking for. The app needs some improvements. I'd love to have a widget to be able to set/check the alarm time - having to open up the app each night is tedious. I also love the "wake me back up if you sense I fall asleep after silencing the alarm feature", but without the watch having a sensor to tell if it's on my wrist, often I wake up, take the watch off to get into the shower, and it's on the counter buzzing and shocking away thinking I'm asleep. So instead I have to move around for 30 min before I can take it off and shower. I wish I could scan a QR code to say "yep, I'm really and truly up, you can disable the "wake me if I fall asleep" timer now. ... show more

  • Wish I Had This Decades Ago!
Most mornings, I pop out of bed before the shock comes. Mine is set at 50% and it feels like the brief pain and irritation of a non-serious bug bite or sting. I believe I have the alarm sound and vibration at 50% as well. So there’s plenty of room to step it up if I begin to slip - though I don’t see that happening! I’ve only been using it two weeks, but it’s been life changing! I use the smart alarm function that wakes you around the time you set and aims for when you’re already stirring (rather than when you are dreaming in REM sleep or comatose in Stage IV deep sleep). I believe it gauges this pretty accurately because of how easily I wake. I am getting an Oura ring in the next few days so I will soon know for certain how accurate it is! Like many in this thread, I have struggled to wake up in the morning my entire life. This is the first resource that has made me feel in control - which is such a powerful and positive feeling after feeling so damn helpless for too long! In the beginning, as I was learning how to open my app and complete my puzzles to wake up, I would end up getting shocked simply because I took too long because I was unfamiliar with the process! That was a bit frustrating! But I know the deal now. The puzzles do change from day to day so you have to think to complete them and turn the alarm off, which really does help you to feel awake. It’s nice that there’s 3 choices for waking activities: puzzles, jumping jacks, or the QR code. Again, I’m glad I can switch it up if the puzzles become ineffective. As everyone else points out, why doesn’t this watch-looking thing display the time! It would definitely make sense and doesn’t seem cost prohibitive to add! If you are someone who is struggling to get to school or work in the morning than you owe it to yourself to try this and see if it gives you back control! People say how easy it is to take off the watch and that that is a drawback of the product. I disagree. I wouldn’t want to have to wake up earlier in order to take of some confusing contraption! And, for this to work, you must be invested in wanting to wake up on time! If you aren’t, nothing will help! You couldn’t just strap it on an unwilling teenager. The watch doesn’t magically make you a morning person, but if you have the will, this is the way! I haven’t considered using it for any behavioral modifications yet. I am a smoker so maybe I’ll eventually pair a shock with having a cigarette in the future, but one thing at a time! And I do believe in using positive reinforcement wherever possible! As do the experts. The issue with using this for behavioral modification is that you have to learn to modify your behavior to incorporate this resource into shaping your behavior. It will only ever be as effective as you are. That’s why I think it’s helpful to think of it as a resource or tool. (I was a Biopsychology and Cognitive Science major at the University of Michigan and was published in the Journal of Behavioral Brain Research as an undergraduate, so I have knowledge and expertise in this area). ... show more

  • It’ll shock you awake that’s for sure!
I used this to wake myself because I’m a heavy sleeper. But honestly, for the money it’s not a very good value. You’re paying over 100$ for something to shock you. The band is cheap. The cord they provide fails after a week or so of use. And the battery life is definitely not 7-9 days try 4-5 days. Not to mention the sleep tracking is absolutely terrible because of how off it is. I pulled an all nighter one night and it claimed I’d been in light sleep and even at rem for a majority of the night. So the features you are paying for aren’t even working as they’re supposed to. Then let’s move onto the wake up methods. I didn’t find anything that talks about how to get a generated QR code that you have to scan in order to disable the alarm. To access that you have to go into the contact support team tab. Also when you’re doing the jumping jacks sometimes it won’t recognize that you’re in the middle of a jumping jack and it’ll just shock you. The device will occasionally disconnect from your phone and if that happens kiss your alarm good bye for the following morning:) My biggest issue with the Pavlok is it claims to do a lot of things, and it does those things, however it’s not done well. Will it give you a shock that’ll wake ya? Absolutely! Will it track your sleep accurately No. will it last 7-9 days no it won’t. The $100+ price tag does not match what the product does and how well it does it. If it tracked your sleep, lasted the 7-9 days, the charger consistently worked, and the band wasn’t cheap, then sure it would be worth it. Honestly save your money and buy something cheaper. So performance ⭐️⭐️ Size ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Quality⭐️⭐️ Weight⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value⭐️⭐️ ... show more
