  • EXACTLY what I needed
I have like 5 alarms (in addition to this watch), and was still somehow sleeping through them (?) It is soooo much harder to sleep through this “shock watch” (the sound could be louder, but not really why I bought It). If you’ve ever used a TENS unit, the “shocks” are very similar to that (minus the stickers and wires). I included a photo of the inside of the watch that shocks / vibrates. If you have issues getting up to standard alarms, I highly Recommend. It’s a bit of an investment (but cheaper than losing your job from oversleeping). I also LOVE the app. (I haven’t had to pay for it or subscribe - if you want the community aspect and challenges there may be a fee, but I’m able to access the alarms and wake up features I need). Last 2 photos are one of my alarms. You can set it to make you scan a QR code (you’ll have to print it out and put it somewhere), do jumping jacks, or do a puzzle on the app. I’ve only used the puzzle, but it has a few different types of puzzles it randomizes (they help wake your brain up a little bit). Next 2 options are preventing you from snoozing, or you have it zap you again when you snooze. Light sleep tries to wake you up during a lighter sleep cycle. Escalating alarm helps with battery life and incremental gets louder or increases the zap ⚡️until you wake up. Smart alarm makes sure you didn’t fall back asleep by checking to see if you’re moving; if you don’t move within 5 minutes the alarm goes off again. All are optional (& free / with the cost of the watch). You can also set the amounts of the volume, zap level, and vibration levels from 0-100%. I usually use between 70-80% (with the escalating alarm). The shock watch also has an option for bad habits (like skin picking/smoking). You can set it to shock, beep, or vibrate if you raise your hand up (near your head). That’s also optional, it works okay (not really what I bought It for) but I’d like to see an option to maybe “train” it to alert you in a certain position or a certain amount of time maybe. Overall, I love It; I am Still employed. I love the purple color, and the shock part definitely works. I did want to point out that my wrists are TINY (~6 inches); the smallest notch is slightly tight, but I usually use the 2nd smallest, so may not work as well if you have child-sized wrists like me lol but all in all 10/5 ⭐️ ... show more

  • First impressions
What everyone below me has said is completely true, so I won’t get into too much detail on a lot of its faults. In short, the app is god awful, the device itself could have a lot more useful tech for $150, heart rate tracking especially, and I can’t believe it doesn’t have a clock on it. It wouldn’t need to be fancy, a simple LCD quartz clock wouldn’t be hard or expensive to incorporate, because I find myself looking at it all the time (maybe I can shock this conditioning out of myself 😂). It’s also very annoying that it only comes in purple, but I assume it’s one of the ways they can upsell the Pavlok 3, which leads me to my next point… There is absolutely no reason to buy the Pavlok 3, it’s essentially the exact same thing and for $50 or (yet another) monthly subscription of $8, you can purchase all the app functionality that you get with the Pavlok 3. With a $20 coupon, the shock clock 3 was $145, so the one time $50 charge would still make it ~$60 cheaper than the P3. But, it’s pointless. As I said, the app is complete garbage. The habit forming and breaking functions are nothing more than notifications, something you could easily achieve with a reminders app. Seeing as it can’t actually know when you’re doing something that you want to break, it’s 100% up to you to be conscious of it, and shock yourself. Luckily, the shock clock has a button for exactly that as well, and you can use it whenever you want. So, save yourself the money and set reminders on another app, if that’s how you’d like to do it, and then zap yourself. But, I can’t stress this enough, you have to WANT to break/learn the habit, or else you’ll never actually follow through with the most important part, at least of that functionality aspect. The alarm is a different story, it’s the only function that can passively condition you, as long as you actually put it on and secure it in whatever way you need (probably not with the strap lock provided, that thing is NOT a barrier to removing the watch). I don’t know about you, but the shock on demand feature is just a bonus, and I purchased this solely as an alarm. And yes, it 10000% works. I have never woken up so fast in my entire life, as I have the past few mornings. I have it set at 65%, 5 shocks every 8 seconds, I close out of the QR code on my laptop and lock it, so I have to unlock my computer and find the code, all while being shocked to oblivion. By the time I turn the thing off, I have zero desire to crawl back into bed, and when I say that is LIFE CHANGING, I truly mean it. I can’t even begin to express the importance of that to me, it feels like I have suddenly gained a super power. Hence why I’m giving it 5 stars after all the complaints. Sure, it could be a lot better for the price, but look at it this way, the value is determined by its capability to change your life, not by its multi-functionality. From that point of view, it’s a no-brainer purchase for me. A simple app overhaul really is in order though so, if you’re reading this, Pavlok, please prioritize your existing customers before putting out “Pavlok 4”!!!!! ... show more

  • Overall good product
This item is pretty expensive for what it is. However, it functioned just like it was supposed to, and it effectively wakes me up every morning. The battery will last me the whole work week. The beeping isn’t very loud so I wouldn’t count on it to wake you up. The product is very easy to use, and gives off quite a shock. Over all I would say this is a quality product if you have trouble waking up in the mornings. My only complaints is the price for what it is and the app could definitely use some work. I would give it a 4.5 if I could but its not perfect so I couldn’t give it 5 ... show more
