It's true that the clock is plastic. However, it looks really good on a wall and it's hard to tell. The main advantage is that it is not heavy and is easy to mount in a wall. The mechanism is silent and the time is accurate. Many reviews talk about difficulty attaching the pendulum. The piece has a slight notch that needs to be "pressed down" into the slot and not just pushed into the slot. Quite easy, just need some attention to detail. Looks nice in the pictures or from a distance but it's so cheaply made that it arrived with broken seconds hand and also the handle was broken. I don't think it's worth it not even for half the price.

I do like the clock, like several others on here have already stated it's a bit small. It is only 8 inches wide at the widest point, and it is 16 inches tall, but only at the highest points from top to bottom (the half circle designs). And we put a bit of super glue on the pendulum piece, because it didn't really clip into place, just sort of hung there in the grove, so we thought gluing it was best. And it is plastic but it doesn't look cheapy. It's very cute. So if you don't mind a smaller clock that you may have to put some adhesive on for the pendulum to stay put, this is for you! ... show more
