Purchased this Bose Pro for use as a patio sound system. The sound quality is what I expected from Bose. Actually, it is much better than expected. The top end response is exceptionally clear, and the bass response is much deeper than you would expect from a cabinet of this size. I love the fact that you can raise or lower the top end speakers to keep them at the proper listening height. That was good engineering forethought. The unit is light weight and easily portable. This is the complete package I had a small system before, 2 250w self-powered Mackeys and a tiny 4 channel mixer. This blows that away. Less than 20 pounds in each hand when disassembled and bagged, you only need to plug in your mic and guitar and put the column on and you're set. 10 minutes from load-in to first song! And it sounds like a million bucks! No separate monitors needed; you hear EXACTLY what the audience hears! And no worries about microphone placement re: feedback.     • Tower is hard to connect
I’ve had previous versions of this system that worked great. The tower pieces slid in perfectly. This design is different. It almost never connects on the first try and I have to jiggle and pull down on the tower to get the sound to come out properly. Getting them apart is a struggle. The base portion is very heavy and large, but the handle is good. I wish they had included a shoulder strap on the tower bag. It’s tough to carry anything else when you have the base in one hand and need your other hand for the tower bag. I’d get the carrying bag for them but it is ridiculously expensive. ... show more

First, this has 8 speakers not 16. Yes, that should be obvious but I missed that on the description. I have a larger Bose tower that has 16 but it was too bulky for travel. This is perfect for travel. I used this at a recent tailgate and I was shocked to find my Generak Battery Power Bank ran this thing, only using 25 watts. This tower was cranking for hours and only ran the % down to 75%. Shocked. Easy to take apart and carry. Love it. ... show more
