  • More Than an Alarm Clock—A Complete Sleep Solution More Than an Alarm Clock—A Complete Sleep Solution
Color: Cocoa Size: Restore 3
I don’t usually write reviews, but the Hatch Restore 3 has honestly been one of the best purchases I’ve made for my sleep and overall routine. First off, the design is beautiful—minimal, modern, and it actually looks aesthetically pleasing (which is rare for tech). But what really makes it worth it is how thoughtfully it’s designed for better sleep. The sunset feature at night has completely changed the way I wind down. Instead of scrolling on my phone, I now have a gentle, gradual dimming light paired with calming sounds that signal to my body that it’s time to rest. It’s helped me fall asleep faster and feel more relaxed at bedtime. The sunrise alarm is just as impressive. Waking up to gradually brightening light instead of a blaring alarm has made my mornings feel so much less jarring. I feel more refreshed and less groggy, which is something I didn’t think a device could actually fix. I also love how customizable everything is—from light colors to soundscapes to routines. You can really tailor it to what works best for you. The sound quality is great too, whether you’re using white noise, nature sounds, or guided meditations. One thing I didn’t expect to love as much as I do is having a consistent nighttime and morning routine built in. It’s helped me be more intentional about sleep, which has made a noticeable difference in my energy levels during the day. If I had to mention a downside, it would be the subscription for full access to content—but honestly, I’ve found it worth it for how much I use it. Overall, the Hatch Restore 3 feels like more than just an alarm clock—it’s a full sleep system. If you’re struggling with winding down at night or waking up feeling exhausted, I would 100% recommend it. ... show more

  • Changed the game for heavy sleeper
Color: Greige Size: Restore 3
I have been a deep sleeper my whole life (setting five alarms in the morning and not waking up to any of them), and this hatch alarm has significantly helped with my sleeping routine! The sunrise lights up my room without any blue light, which is especially helpful for winter and early morning wake-ups. The app also allows you to choose your sunrise colors/brightness/alarm sounds so you can definitely find something that works for you. A plus is that you can play white noise/ other sounds while sleeping! One of my favorite features is the bathroom light on the side of the alarm that is super easy to turn on/off so you don’t ruin your eyes with overhead lights. You can also turn on the light in fun color-ways at the front of the alarm during the day! Finally, I love how the alarm looks on my nightstand-it’s the perfect size and it matches my decor perfectly. You can also turn on and off the clock during the day and night and dim the time for readability at night. Love this alarm clock! ... show more

  • Genuinely impressed - Essential for Sleepmaxxing! Genuinely impressed - Essential for Sleepmaxxing!
Color: New Putty Size: Restore 3
As I am making a major effort to really pay attention to my sleep quality, I purchased this clock after being recommended by a friend and I am very pleased - I truly did not think it would make as much of an impact on my sleep quality as it has. I waited a month to write this review and can share my honest thoughts: Pros: -I love the minimalism and appearance of the device itself. It is not an eyesore; the colors are soothing and the display is easy to read. The one button interface is also quite easy to use first thing in the morning - the sound library is extensive, and there are so many options to choose from. Think spa/soothing music as well as relaxing nature sounds - the sound quality of the speaker itself is impressive. It really transforms my entire room into a much cozier environment. - setting up a routine is a very handy way to both ease into sleep and ease into the morning. My old iPhone alarm was stressful and annoying and this takes a much more serene, gradual approach. Also offers many options for how to wake up (on a specific minute, over a period of time, etc) so it is flexible to each person’s needs Cons: -the app interface and instructions could use a little work in terms of getting started out of the box (understanding how routines work, what the buttons do). But the support team is extremely responsive and helped me through this very clearly, and once you figure it out using it is a breeze -some of the sounds in the library are a little ridiculous (there is a stand up routine option? Doesn’t really affect the product I just can’t imagine who would use that lol) All in all this is such a game changer for my sleep. I feel like I can fall asleep so much easier, and it helps redirect my distracted mind which I often find racing at night. Super recommend this to anyone looking to improve their sleep hygiene! ... show more

  • Personalized sleep routines Personalized sleep routines
Color: Cocoa Size: Restore 3
I first heard about the Hatch sunrise alarm clocks last year and only recently decided to purchase one in the Cocoa color. After a week of using it, I’m really enjoying the experience so far. You’ll have to download the Hatch app to get the device set up and what stood out to me right away was the thoughtful user experience which was evident even during onboarding. One challenge I often face is knowing when to put my phone now before bed. If I lose track of time, I can easily end up scrolling on my phone for an hour or two, which throws off my sleep schedule. I love how I can personalize my wind down routine with the Restore by playing calming sounds (my favorite has been the sunset south baths so far), as well as listen to a short meditation to ease into sleep. I also appreciate waking up to light and a pleasant alarm, rather than the same iPhone alarm I’ve relied on for years. There is a bit of a learning curve at first because of all the customization options, but it’s easy to get the hang of. ... show more

  • Hatch 3- finally a sleep tool that works! Hatch 3- finally a sleep tool that works!
Color: New Putty Size: Restore 3
I LOVE my new Hatch. I always had issues getting myself to wind down at night, but Hatch has taken the (over)thinking out of it! The calming cue telling me to switch into that night-mode is something I used to fight, and now something I look forward to. I love the variety of options in music, light, sounds and meditations to help calm my racing mind before bed. I definitely had alarm fatigue so having new options for waking up makes it a nice surprise and helps me start my day on the right foot. I used to stay up so late, sabotaging my sleep, forcing a later wake up, and Hatch is helping me shift my night schedule earlier and I’m feeling more refreshed when I wake up and more well-rested throughout the day. During these stressful times, I’ve been recommending this to all my friends as a really helpful tool with managing stress, anxiety and sleep patterns. Thanks, Hatch! ... show more

  • An in-depth review for anyone debating the high price! (with year update) An in-depth review for anyone debating the high price! (with year update)
Color: Putty Size: Restore 2
Don’t let the subscription deter you, this alarm clock is completely usable without it. The monthly subscription is mainly for more sounds and bedtime stories, plus 2 added steps to your sleep/wake routine which are ‘Unwind’ and ‘Morning Moment’. I’d suggest setting up some routines while on the free version, to get the feel of it first; then get the free trial and immediately cancel it, so you don’t get charged but can try it out for a month. If you realize that you like the subscription version more than the free: the monthly price is $5 totaling to $60 a year, and the yearly subscription is $50. The sunrise feature is super customizable, you can have the dim lamp go very bright within 5 minutes or up to an hour. There’s 28 different sleep sounds, 12 sunrises, and 13 alarm sounds to choose from without a subscription. Hatch claims this alarm is science-backed in lulling you to sleep but also waking you up gradually and peacefully. Listening to sleep sounds definitely helps me stay asleep for most of the night; whereas before, I’d wake up numerous times every single night. Also I can for sure say that after having this clock for a few months, not once have I woken up to a jarringly loud alarm and jumped out of bed after realizing I snoozed all of my phone alarms. The biggest issue is that it relies on a constant WiFi/power connection. If a cell tower nearby goes down or there’s no power, you’re stuck without an alarm clock. (Aug. ‘24) I got the Restore 2 in the Putty color, it’s a lighter tan with a hint of pink. The video I included shows the Brown Noise sleep sound and the light color Evening Sun. There are instructions that come with the clock that tell you where to touch for adjusting the volume and light, how the two Rest/Rise buttons at the top work, and how to set up the clock within the app. It took about 10 minutes for my clock to connect and register/update, so don’t be worried if it takes awhile. Not only is this an aesthetic clock, but it’s also a sound machine, an alarm, and a curated sunrise. The ability to have a different alarm schedule is a huge bonus as well, especially if you have a differing morning routine depending on the day. Honestly, the price could definitely be lower ($170), but I believe it’s just about worth it over other options. !!! Update: I’ve had the Restore 2 for a year now (Oct ‘25) and had some sound issues for awhile, so I contacted support. The sleep sound that I rely on every night (brown noise) was cutting out after a few minutes and Hatch’s customer support was super kind and gracious. I was provided a replacement power cord and after the sound issue remained, eventually a replacement clock. Since they stopped making the Restore 2, I was genuinely surprised that I was given a free replacement/upgrade to the Restore 3! The only downside to the new model I noticed is that the Restore 3 is a bit taller and doesn’t have the easy touch options on the face. The light adjustment is now on the top right side edge (between the routine and light buttons), and the invisible touch sensors are hard to manage. The light button on the right side has only one setting (the app now lets you customize this!) and it’s great when you don’t want to turn on any sounds. Hatch support and products are amazing, they really care about their customers!! (Note: I was not influenced or paid for this, I simply wanted to provide a genuine review!) ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised
Color: Greige Size: Restore 3
I’ve been using the Hatch Restore 3 for a few weeks now, and I can honestly say I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy it. What I expected to be just a simple alarm clock and sound machine has actually become a really calming and consistent part of my nightly routine. The wind-down features help me disconnect at the end of the day, and the gradual sunrise alarm makes waking up feel much more natural and definitely less jarring than my phone alarm. My only real drawback is the subscription model. Given the device is already a significant upfront investment, it would be nice if more features were included without an additional ongoing cost. That said, even with that consideration, I’ve still found it to be a worthwhile addition to my routine and something I look forward to using daily. ... show more

  • Takes the pain out of waking up! Takes the pain out of waking up!
Color: New Putty Size: Restore 3
I am NOT a morning person, so I'm always looking for way to make waking up an easier process. (The sound of iPhone alarms I've used years ago still send my heart racing.) The Hatch Restore 3 has been a wonderful solution with a gentle alarm that takes the pain out of waking up. It starts with a soothing sunrise light that slowly brightens in the lead-up to your wake time, so your body is already naturally easing into the morning before the alarm even kicks in. And the alarm itself softly fades in, calming tones without any sudden blare. Most days, the light alone has been enough to wake me, and the alarm is just a gentle final push into the waking day. Right now I'm really enjoying the "Blue Light Morning" alarm, but there are so many other options I'm excited to work through. I've also added a second light-only alarm using the "Villa" light that I use as a mood lamp while I'm getting ready. It creates such a nice atmosphere in the morning and is a small thing that's made the whole routine feel a little more enjoyable. On the wind-down side, I'm still working my way through all the "Unwind" options and have been loving the Sound Baths, Soundscapes, and Music selections. There's such a great variety that I can just pick whatever sounds right for my mood that night without overthinking it. My bedroom feels like a spa! I've been falling asleep to the water and rain sounds lately. There are actually several different options for the type and intensity of rain, which is a nice touch. I'm also looking forward to trying out the meditations, which I haven't gotten to yet. I like leaving the clock on permanently, so I'm not tempted to look at my phone if I wake up in the middle of the night, but you can also set it to display the time only when you tap it, if you get clock anxiety at night. Setting up the Restore and the app was pretty straightforward even without reading the directions. I'm still fine-tuning my favorite routines, but even the very first options I tried were great. Only a few days in and I'm already looking forward to both my morning and bedtime routines, which honestly says it all. ... show more
