I’ve used a few water filter pitchers over the years, but this Brita model stands out because of one key design feature: the top reservoir doesn’t overfill and leak into the lower tank like many others I’ve tried. That alone makes a big difference in everyday use. The lid fits snugly and the fill hole is wide enough to make refilling quick and mess-free. What I really like is that when I pour in water, I don’t have to stand there and wait for the filter to catch up just to avoid spillage. It only allows water to pass through when there’s room below, which keeps things clean and avoids overflows. In terms of filtering performance, the water tastes noticeably better—cleaner and fresher than tap. It’s great for both drinking and cooking. The filter replacement indicator is also handy, so I’m not guessing when to swap it out. The jug fits nicely in my fridge door and is light enough for regular use, even when full. Due to having crappy water quality, we use the refrigerator water dispenser for ourselves and our dogs, as well as making our own ice cubes because the water quality stinks too bad even with the fridge filter to use those. Being able to just pour water into this from the faucet has been a lifesaver. You can absolutely tell a difference in the quality of the ice as well. Cleaner and with less calcification, etc that holds the ice to the silicone molds. So glad I bought this even though I was tentative about it ... show more

I bought these to replace a Brita Pithcer that is probably a decade and a half old (and still works, but has some cracks developing.) I was skepitcal at the newer design at first but after using it for weeks, I've discovered I appreciate it. All that remains is the test of time. BTW, I don't use these for drinking water. Brita filters have proven adequate for filtering the walter I use in my humidifiers during the winter, and much less expensive than using distilled water.
